RS3 v Tesla 3 Performance

Anyway, drifting off subject matter so a last one.
But if i bought an EV, which I wont be, and thought i was saving the planet, I'd just be a hypocrite as I'd know I am not.

have good one chaps, and long live the internal combustion engine. :thumbs up:

totally agree - I just hope synthetic fuels can be further developed as that could be a huge game changer for ICE cars.

One day we will all be just like George Jetson, zipping around in green or multicoloured space bubbles.:yahoo:

Even in an Audi shade of green, not sure if that's an "S" or "RS" model though. lol

There's nothing wrong with A4's chap, some are just better than others and not all are the same under the bodywork either.... :thumbs up:

Just beware of black B7 avants , they can be a bit quicker than you'd expect.:whistle2:

A mate of mine got a Model 3 around Xmas, said the quality is pretty good. And best car he has ever had. He has had a few Audis
The one I took out although low in miles seemed quite well built, not a rattle or a squeek inside

he must have had some poor Audis then lol :tearsofjoy:
To be perfectly truthfull I have had more trouble with Audi's than any other car, I have had 2 x new A3 which were very troublesome (squeeks/rattles/windscreen wipers packed in, noisy rear shocks/radiator leaks due to wrong bracket (updated one fitted) one A3 just wouldnt start when hot/steering wheel out of true from new, a TTS that needed a new mechatronic unit at 5000 miles and a new gearbox at 7500miles, a TTRS that went through 3 x Exhaust temperature sensors a V8 R8 with 3000 miles that needed two new cats due to oil consumption.

Last two new cars have been a Golf 2.0 GT TDI and my 2017 Golf R, both have never needed anything other than routine servicing (touch wood)

Why the f**k I am buying an RS3 has me questioning myself to be honest

They will still be totally out dated by electric cars of the future....................and I never thought I would live to say that, I am a petrol head through and through, just look at todays offerings which are in the electric cars ealy days of development,

Compare an RS3 to a Tesla 3 Performance, just on facts, leave the emotions and male ego out of it
It's quicker
It's quieter
It's £500 a year less to tax
It costs around £5 per 100 miles in fuel v around £20 for RS3
There is no routine servicing, non.

PS: And they will tell you order one now and you can have it March, none of this (my own experience) BW 16 --- BW8 --- BW49 that now 5 weeks ago and I have heard FA

EV's will get quicker, more powerfull, more economical, longer range, faster charging and maybe cheaper in the next 5 years.
ICE's will get tougher emissions, higher road tax, higher fuel tax and banned from Cities in the next 5 years

It doesnt mean I want one though :)

@Mike.46 a TM3 isn't even on my radar vs a RS3. It could be twice as fast as it is now and I still couldn't care. I doubt any petrolhead will want one.

Time will tell, like the horse and car was replaced by the steam engine, and then the ICE came along, and now electric motors and batteries, the only bit that still remains from the start is the wheel

ICE and EV are both cars though just with different "engines" nowt like horse vs car imho. A better comparison is petrol vs diesel.

TBH when my 'Car' mag drops through the door I skip anything and everything EV related and more so with MCN (Motorcycle News) I have never read anything about an EV motorcycle as much as it's pushed down my throat.

But just looking at the TT Zero, (Electric motorcycles) not more than a few years ago they couldnt complete a lap of the TT, but now, 3 years ago the TT Zero lap record is 121 mph, that means it's averaged 121mph around the circuit (hope i'm not teaching you to suck eggs here) it will only do one lap of the 37.73 mile circuit but still it's huge progress.
I really do not want an electric motorcycle full stop, I dont want an electric car either, but we are going to be forced in that direction within 10 years :(

Not a fan of any EV’s and they all look :puke2: the only decent looking imo are the Taycan and RS e-tron GT. I still wouldn’t buy one:tearsofjoy:

A friend is considering one of these to replace his current bike.
He goes into London centre regular, so says it suits his needs.

I'd happily have an EV, but only for the boring commute and around town because I think that's where they really make the most sense. I've test driven a few and I think for those kinds of trips they make a great deal of sense. There are a couple caveats for me though - you have to be able to charge at home and the price of them for what you get is still very high, both of which are deal breakers for a lot of people.

Any distance or for any fun I'd 100% be taking the RS3.

My mates Model 3 took 8 weeks. Love them or hate them (I am not personally a fan) Tesla has shown many manufacturers how things can be done. I will cling onto ICE as long as I can, but agree that they can/will make sense for mundane commutes.

My neighbour had someone over this weekend in a Jag EV, and had a cable running over the wall to charge.

Can we people stopping to invite family/friends round as they will want to get a free charge

lol ... yet these EV embracers try to make out they are not a compromise / no range anxiety / no charger anxiety / no contemplating do I have enough range to put on the heater in winter to keep warm & sacrifice range or need to plan routes with lengthy stops and 'enjoy' a coffee instead of cracking on with the journey pmsl :tearsofjoy:

I think there would need to be a lot of pre flight planning at the moment, but as range increases towards 4-500 miles that should dissapear as well, a mate in the IOM reckons EV would be 100% perfect over there.

Lots of fast chargers will do 10-80% in less than 30 minutes now, not every time as it harms the batteries long term.

We can bury our heads in the sand, wear blinkers etc and look at our RS3 with rose tinted glasses, but unfortuantely EV's are coming :(

yeah but not right now - we still have a choice.
Plus - what happens when you rock up to a charger and its not working or someone else has just parked up for half hour - then your'e there for an hour.
Those that want it / like it I say you crack on, but it aint for me and I will buy ICE while I can.
