We still have the system that measures "roundness" of the tyres though don't we ;)

The indirect one yes, although it's quite slow to react to a change in Circumference.

Funny you should say that, when I had the indirect system on my S4 it would alert me that all the wheels were low as soon as I put my winters on. Must've only been 10m down the road! Then it would do the same thing when I put my summer wheels back on.

Looks like they’ve got the first Vorsprung in country

God I hate that round steering wheel. Really ruins it for me

We do joke about THAT steering wheel quite a bit on here but the majority of people who have seen it say its ok in real life.
I think it just looks massive in photos but first hand it looks much better.
Saying that, for me it was one of the reasons I went carbon just in case it did bug me, as its your main contact point with the car and your directly facing it constantly.

I think for me it just screams 'normal' where the RS3 is top of the range and should feel that way, steering wheel included. I was always of the understanding flat bottomed wheels felt a bit more premium and sporty.

I know what you mean but they’re putting them on everything these days. My 1.0 fiesta from a few years back had one…

Must admit I prefer a round wheel to actually drive with… flat bottomed does look better but not “enough” for me to want to change mine.

Yup, it was for the photos more than anything else lol. Prices are just silly

When a mk8 Golf R is being listed for £55k with 2k miles… maybe they aren’t so mad… or more likely it’s a sign that everyone is mad currently

Totally agree with the “normal” comment and the round wheel looks and feels like my Mrs A1 wheel!!
This is what mine will be like minus the paddles and with Matt CF Urus paddles red stitching and RS badge at bottom. Not to everyone’s taste, but I love it

What's the cost for something like that?

And that Golf 8R is missing all the desireable 'add ons' like Performance Pack, Adaptive suspension and Akra exhaust, in fact it's a std car with black paint, so about £41k

There’s a multitude of suppliers out there and many from China. I’ve a few folks I know that used this guy and the work he produced is excellent. The wheel as you see it minus the buttons and paddles but with full air bag internals was $800 with free shipping. I didn’t get the buttons from him as he wanted $250 to supply and fit, and I got them for £100 myself and they are easy to fit. Urus paddles in matte CF from @JIMBO £80 so total is around £750

My S3 does the same but takes a bit longer, ~1 mile. However, I would much prefer the individual pressures and temps to be displayed.

Mental, never knew the carbon didn’t come with the TPMS system! Wonder what else is actually really different, need to find out if the vorsprung has it before I jump ship to one!

I'm not sure the Vorsprung does.
Checking my original Vorsprung order doc (before I changed to carbon) and checking the on line configurator, nothing is mentioned about TPMS.
Just looked at the photo of the black vorprung which ENKAI have and I can't see the silver stem valve caps on the alloys which would indicate TPMS.

I'll be throwing a wobbly if I don't get it on my Vorsprung. It's something that every press, base model Frankenstein and LE car appears to have come with and if the top level car doesn't now come with it then I'll be discussing options with the dealer. They've already taken stuff off the car so if they start to take more off under the radar it'll seriously **** me off.

Maybe TPMS and red brake calipers were launch edition items only ?

Iv had a look on the configurator and it doesn’t mention it at all on any model. Iv emailed my salesman and they are sure either. Iv asked if it can be installed with only hardware or requires software as well

Yeah, it's not listed on the spreadsheet I was sent originally either. But neither are the G-meter and other things I thought came standard with the car, so who knows. As I've just said though, I'll be ****** because that's a feature I really like having if you're thinking of having a bit of a hoon so you can check everything is up to temp and pressure.

G-meter is listed under Audio & Communication as part of the standard spec:
RS-specific menu with central rev counter including gear display and g-force indicator

Under Safety & Security:
Tyre-pressure loss indicator – visual and acoustic warning of pressure loss on one or more wheels, displayed in the driver information system
