Picked mine up on Sunday!

I'm in love with it. I didn't it would feel that much better than the S3 saloon I had for 6 years but the 5 cyclinder makes all the difference!

Awesome! The 5 cylinder engine is a very unique gem. I’ve had mine for 2 years and the sound never gets old. Tip: get midpipes if you don’t have them, it makes the sound even better with no downside!

Yeah the engine and the noise just sets it apart from the S3.


I’ll look into the midpipes cheers. Any recommendations?

There all the same - literally a couple of pipes lol. The gasket and fasteners matter, a new pack is like $30. I have the 034 pipes, found them used.

How does this work then? I’ve usually went full exhaust but I couldn’t be chewed to mod this one.

Does it create any more drone or anything?

No drone or added noise in comfort. In dynamic the shift burps are more pronounced, you can hear more exhaust notes in the cabin (especially if you crack open the sunroof), and you get more complements from your buddies.

In summary, it makes the exhaust sound cooler, but not louder.

It got them b/c on the track I couldn’t hear the engine at all, even with the windows open. Now I can hear it just enough.

Yes, it’s essentially a secondary cat delete. You still have the main ones on the downpipe so you’ll pass smog, at least for now in the US.
