First RS3 8Y to be PPFd Detailed & Ceramic Coated

TBH I think there are a few ppl that look like a March 1st pick up so could be close.
Also anyone on here know a decent detailer in the South East?

Mine's provisionally booked in early march (providing the car lands in time!)

Try @FranA3 as he has been looking after all my cars since 2015.

Thank you for all the recommendations but I was having a joke at @Detail Devil ’s expense, look at the name and have a guess what he does. He is also a very “decent” detailer.

Lol only just noticed that *doh

Separate endorsement for @FranA3. He is superb, really knows his stuff and reasonably priced.

Rather than go ceramic, I went for a MaxProtect coating - very pleased and still going strong nearly 3 years later.

I did get some looks taking this to my pal's to get a Track Pack PPF carried out before full new car prep together with Shelby Premium Ceramic Coating which gives a 5 year protection lifespan. Looking good now, but will POP like a fire cracker when completed. Guess who's car this is?????

Haha - I drafted something similar but didn’t post. Battenburg anyone?

Seriously though - professional detailers work magic on how a car looks.

Always room for improvement. Some slight marring on passenger side, but haven’t conducted a full inspection yet as PPF done and still at my pals garage allowing it to cure. Will collect tomorrow and the Devil will perform

The A3 is rated to tow 1,800kg. I already have a detachable tow bar to fit my RS3 when it arrives... same one a mate has on his 8Y S3.
The A3 might be, but the RS3 isn't so I don't think that the likes of your insurance would look too kindly on it if you had an accident.

As others have said, the A3 might be tow rated but the RS3 isn't.

Our carbon landed today, collection next Friday. I’m in the southeast and was considering KDS for ceramic £800+vat or +£500 for machine polish if dealer prep isn’t good?

thoughts? Recommendations

Kelly is very VERY good. Looking at the Vorsprung i've just prepped and ceramic coated, i also did a single stage polish, as there were a few very minor marks which polished out easily. I'd strongly recommend getting the Wheels and Callipers Ceramic Coated too

Unfortunately dealer prep is usually poor and at some places even damaging. What you have to realise is that people that have ceramic coatings are a bit OCD about their paintwork (I’m one of them) and it’s a borderline illness but the cars look amazing. I have specifically stated that no one from the dealership was to touch the car and had @Detail Devil do everything from organise the PPF to the ceramic. Might be worth having a chat with him as he’s done 3 of my cars in the last month and seems a reasonable enough bloke apart from some infatuation about goats but other than that he’s alright

I agree with the comments about dealer prep can be damaging. I had my RSQ3 collected from the dealership by the ceramic guys with all the travel protection left on. They did the whole lot and a marvellous job. I'd get the calipers done too as well as the wheels, very worthwhile and money well spent. Good Luck.

Completely agree. I don’t let dealers anywhere near my cars for prep or when having to go in for maintenance.

We've had two cars "accidentally" washed by VW, despite being marked as do-not-wash (and in one case having a hanger from the rear view mirror saying so too). Both times have just been over-enthusiastic "valet" staff. Luckily they didn't do too much damage to my car, but my girlfriend's is now swirl city, but the joke's on them as she's trading it in with them in a couple of months anyway. Very depressing to see all the marks though.

After they did the Golf, I was taking no chances with the Corrado so bought myself a set of chalk pens and...

Trust me, the staff with respect and NOT professional valeters. My son works at Guildford Audi, and its no different. I get a lot of work from him, especially on RS vehicles, as per @jimbo255 and a recent RS6. My advice is to get your car collected as soon as its off teh delivery lorry, and taken to a professional detailer for a new car prep. PPF, of course is recommended as i had carried out on @jimbo255 car, but the PPF has also been ceramic coated which gives an amazing additional shine, plus protects it the same as the non PPFd areas.

Hey I’ve had stu the detailer recommended to me for prep and ceramic. Seems great very very reasonably priced. Just wondering if anyone else had used him?

LOL, this is such a laughable forum, you lot think you know it all. It's fine, the dealer is fitting the removeable tow bar on delivery. They've already done an RS3 8Y for one customer. Insurance, that's sorted too.

What you doing on here then? Toddle back to FB

Whilst i disagree with your ASN comments 100%.........

It does actually appear that the 8Y can have a towbar option........

No one 'Knows it all' but they can certainly share info when they find it

RS3 Towbar

I never claimed to 'know it all', but I'm sure that you'd agree if a car wasn't designed for towing and something happened whilst performing said action, that they would be more than happy to void your insurance so they didn't have to pay out.

People are allowed to have opinions on here, and that's exactly what my comment was. Information has been supplied to say that there's a factory fit option (despite not being available or showing when building a car on the configurator, which is what I based my opinion on), so in reality you should be fine, as you've since said.

Maybe take a chill pill, you seem to be too stressed out about something.
