Not sure if this thread will take off... But as the title asks, what have you done with your 8Y today??

I figured this would be a great thread for small jobs that don’t warrant a whole thread and good for people to share ideas :thumbs up:.

I’ll start things off with the fitting of my sunglasses holder, a nice addition and saves leaning over to the glovebox:

What about the rest of you?

I have spent 4hrs to replace the front emblem to the black one. It was a pain to get the old one off. The OEM badge is clipped in solidly. I have the radiator cover removed to access the back of the front grill and broken the emblem piece by piece. There are total 10 tabs behind the emblem, my first attempt is to break all the tabs so i can use the plastic trim removal tool to pull the logo out but I was only able to access 6 of it.

Below is the pic of the 2 hrs progress, didn't intend to break the logo, but i was pulling too hard with the zip tie and the emblem broken into 2 pieces.

And there are tabs still clipped behind the rest of the two rings. I struggled on pulling or pushing behind it for another hour. At the end I decided to cut the rings in pieces.:cower:

All cleared!!!!

I also applied an abs gloss black cover to cover the grill surround chrome.

And also enhanced the fake exhaust tips.

Will going to replace the back emblem to the black one on the weekend~

As you can tell from my logo picture, I am working on converting my 2001 A4 Avant to a truck. All the body work except prepping for paint has been done. This took about 4 months and lot's of changes but it's almost done.

Bit random but can anyone send me a picture of the Audi A3 edition 1 35 tfsi (like the picture below) please. I'm trying to order my dash cam but I don't have my car yet to see . I need to check if it has that part the arrow points to. Please and thanks

I added a dent to it this evening. View attachment 251992
I feel your pain mate. Someone decided that I did not need a gleaming example of an A3 and put something into the side of my rear while parked up. Luckily it is just the bumper so not tin work. I have still not decided whether to pay for a repair or go through the insurance

Sorry to hear this but they are correct that you're at fault I'm afraid
Live and learn, it’s all on track to be sorted through an Audi approved bodyshop, should be going in for repairs in the next 2weeks

That looks awesome! Was it done without removing the trim?

No, I removed the trim but it was quite easy, I used a trim tool to remove the boot around the gear lever down the long side as it has two bits of plastic protruding which keeps in in position, then carefully pulled up on the plastic trim ( you can get your hand in once the boot is out of the way ) which is held by 5 clips then undid the two connectors from the ignition switch and the audio switch. When removing the two switches just be careful as they are each held on by three clips.

Dashboard wrap by a company in Holland with matt grey folie. No more scratches and fingerprints and pianolack. The red start-stop button is from Alie Express!

Today I installed warning lights in each door. I loved how it looks. Just spend 20 minutes, it is not necessary to take off the door panel.

Decided to use the auto park function on parallel park to see if it still works. 3rd time trying. First 2 very successful once it knows where you want to go. Let go steering just use accelerator pedal. Reversed in fine, asked me put to D when the car straightened itself out and it curbed the front rim. The car did, it didn't even said it was complete yet. I didn't think it would park literally 1-2 cm from the curb. So now I need to find some alloy touch up paint. Any suggestions? I've got the regular Audi non diamond cut ones
