What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Hi Folks, not been around much lately but I have been doing stuff to the Old Jalopy - spent the last few weekends fitting the Bilstein/H&K suspension I got from Rob (CHEERS Rob!! :icon thumright:) & also freshening up my front Calipers as well as replacing the rear ones.

Original Front coilover strut (which I only fitted in 2018)

Old N New struts - note the broken rear spring lying alongside them (both were broken in exactly the same place)

Bilstein/H&K strut assembled with new standard upper Arms (mounted at correct angle - the adjustable ones consistently destroyed their outer ball joints as the boots kept getting split - don't know why)

Replacement strut fitted

H&K rear spring with Bilstein shock fitted

And that concludes my latest shenanigans..........
Except....... I have sold my B6 Audi Avant - it will be put back on the road by the new owner Yay!
I'm glad you got some use from the Bilsteins and H&R springs chap.
Its allways Good to see decent kit get a new home. :yahoo:

Yes Black Optics for sure. Went very far out of my way to have everything else factory black in my car lol. So definitely changing over the surround from my Special Edition grill

Would have loved to find a good VMZ one but theses are rare enough and the condition of them vary so much. This one was in near perfect condition so was very hard to refuse.

Got a good deal. Came in the Genuine VAG box too

Also came with a set of these RS4 Fog Light grills

Fitted

Not sure what to make of it. Never saw one on a silver car before. Not many Silver RS4's about and I've never saw a single RS4 in Silver with Black Optics

Looks almost as if something is missing.

Is it the badge?

or am I just too used to seeing 'my old' car and this will take some getting used to. Unsure!

It’s a personal choice situation, having been there with black I know what you mean, hence why I went satin silver.

Sometimes the black surround is just too much black , all the contrast is lost that you get with the silver or chrome.
I expect it will grow on you but don't be surprised if it doesnt.

stick a number plate on it, see what you think.
Personally, I like it, but then I would :)

I think I’d like to try and put an “RS” badge in the grill. Not RS3, RS4, RS5.. just RS

Would match the RS key I have

Any one know of a badge that might work for the grill?

I'd put an RS badge like so in the grill. Possibly 'S-Line' at a push but not anything else

It looks good, perhaps you need to fit a set of RS4 style fog grilles with the mesh insert to tie the front end together? I always think just fitting an RS4 grille on its own without them looks a bit off personally, as it's not consistent with any other styling features of the car.

Gloss black rs4 fitment on my old bus.
Looks good on black paintwork but still tends to look a bit lost contrast wise.

Slap the plate on and it's good to go in my OP :thumbs up:

So i bought some more wheels for the Falcon and i'm feeling like a budget version of @I'm Just Rob. changing them already.

looks super sparkly clean :yahoo: :icon thumright:

I think you need to drive over and do mine next, the old bus is looking a bit sad at present, I've sort of lost interest in it lately, pretty well lost interest in everything to be honest.
Sorry to hear that Rob, hope you're doing ok mate. Sounds like you need a project to dive into, always helps me when I get like that :)

So after the 4 tyres being fitted this morning, I took advantage of the weather and took the Fireblade to Hunstanton.

When i got home I removed my Heko Wind Deflectors and replaced them with iSPEED ones (I found them easier to get into position than the Hero ones and provided with more clips).

I then replaced my cloth armrest with a leather one.

I also noticed that the Cupra R Splitter was coming away from the bumper on one side, so i tightened the tapping screws that were in there and added some more.

Then i closed everything away, ready to watch the footy with a drink. Cheers :beercheers:

Did you change your seats Fully? Since I always thought the leather factory fitted cars would have a leather armrest cover too. Where did you get it? I bought a new OEM grey cloth one since my cloth one was a bit shiny - it turned out to be wrong size. In the end I used a magic eraser on the old one, like I did on the steering wheel and gearstick, and it worked mostly - the shiny look has gone.

I've been unwell for the last couple of weeks and just don't have any interest in anything at the moment.
Normally cars and bikes give me a real buzz but I just can't be bothered with them.

maybe next week will be better. :icon thumright:

Get them on eBay.

Careful, there are two type.

One is curved at the front, the other is flat

Easy to order one thinking they all fit, but they're not interchangeable

Yes that's the mistake I made first time

Are you interested in selling your old cloth one Fully? Since even with the magic eraser treatment mine is not looking quite as good.

I'll find the p&p costs and you pay that, otherwise its £500.
Exactly p&p is good, its good to be kind every now and then, so pass it on in the future.

Decided to spend an hour cleaning up the old bus, it rarely gets filthy so time to restore some sort of order to it and see some shiny paintwork again.

That's a mighty fine B7 Rob! And just reminds you perfectly of why the B7 is the best looking of em all!

Removed the Heko wind deflectors from the S4 as the fronts were starting to bulge out and not fit very well. I had to trim them down when i originally fitted them as they barely squeezed in length wise. I like the look of the wind deflectors on the Avant but not so much on the saloon. I have fitted a set of perfect fit blinds which fit spot on and give the tinted look to the rear windows but can removed at any time. I have had them in all my A4/S4's. I think the next mod will be a set of factory front and rear mud flaps, thats if they are still available through TPS.
