A3/S3 delivery lead time?

I got the blue light card discount from Motorfinity. Did you go through them as well? I do reckon this is the case. Others on this sub have got the car quicker. Motorfinity can't even provide the factory details for the car so I can track it myself.
I used Forces Cars Direct. Similar to motorfinity.

I never got any info on delays until I called them to see when I could get my car. I now have to contact them every few weeks to ask for an update, which is always another delay.

The delays, are they across the board or are some taking longer than others, petrol or diesel, manual or automatic, a particular spec s line etc?

The situation with lead times is all over the place from everything I have heard - my local dealer is notionally quoting 9-12 months to people yet I have a friend who ordered an RS5 and was also quoted a year - yet Audi emailed him out of the blue after 7 months to say they were now building it....

A lot of the optional extras are being taken off the list due to lack of semiconductors as well. Problem with all of this it is pushing up the prices of nearly new and ex-demo cars to almost the same price as new because they know some people will be desperate enough.

Almost? Look on the Audi site for "approved used" cars. The other day, there were 2 S3 Vorsprungs on there. One was registered in January this year, the other in May last year. Both with single-digit thousands of miles on the clock. And both, £5,000 or so over list price.

In fact, there are 3 on there now:
May 21 (13 months old), 7,500 miles, £48,999
June 21 (12 months old), 10,000 miles, £48,990
January 22 (5 months old), 6,000 miles, £47,500

The list price for a brand new one with no options is £48,480

And take a look on Autotrader. There are 6 over £50,000! I guess they may have options, but it seems unlikely all 6 would. One has 3,800 miles. The rest are delivery milage, or 300-500 miles (so likely ex demos which have been ragged daily by the salespeople).

To be honest there aren't many options available for the Vorsprung it already has everything on it

I know, I have one on order. And that's my point. I guess they may have the super expensive "carbon pack" or whatever it's called. But really, the mainstream choices are metallic/pearl paint, and red brake callipers. That's it. So who in their right mind would pay £55,000 for a car with 1 previous owner and 200 miles on the clock? Like I said, it's clearly a demonstrator and will have been ragged daily. Who would pay over £6,000 premium (over 12%) just to "+++BEAT THE 24 MONTHS WAIT+++" as the advert says?

Actually, to be completely fair, at least one of these cars does appear to have the £2,800 "exclusive" paint option. LOL! £2,800 for paint!

I am due to collect my A3 Vorsprung this coming Friday however the dealer decided yesterday they weren't going to honour the part exchange value they were going to give me on my old car. They valued it a few weeks back assuming they would get the A3 sooner than they actually did. They want to reduce it by £1k. I was never told they were going to revalue it let alone so late in the day. As you can imagine I'm not best pleased.

£2400 4 weeks ago then a price increase to £2600
I chose a exclusive paint as Audi's standard optioned paints are a little drab

Yep, there is a 'new' A3 S Line on Audi's website for £3k more than new

I should know, I've just got a Q3 TFSIe Black Edition - 9 months old ex-demo with 4500 on the clock - I had to accept paying a price of £44,495 - the current list of the equivalent car specced up the exact same way as mine is £45,100 so go figure - only £600 of a difference, but it's either that or wait until next Easter, and you might get your car....maybe....

To be fair, I just saw a S3 Vorsprung in Merlin Purple and it looks absolutely amazing!

The current model is MY22. MY23 will come out later in the year if there are any revisions.

I bought my MY22 A6 in august last year just after it had been released.

Ah yeah I meant my23. Was hoping they’d add new stuff like virtual cockpit plus etc as an option

There is some articles on the web, but they’re all guessing.

with the current situation I suspect there will be no changes until MY24

Funny thing is, you will probably order your MY22 now, and it'll arrive after they've announced the MY24s at this rate!

That ls good, I have 45tfsie comp c/s on order since January told end of October now end of December 22 expecting more 23
I too have a 45TFSIe Comp on order. Ordered early Sept 21. given build week 17 then pushed back to wk 37 then brought forward to wk 34. Chased my supplier today for an update and told "Audi have been converting the orders to 23 model year which has now taken place but we’re waiting for them to reassign a build week to your order". its like a lucky dip ordering a car from Audi. There seems to be no logic to their madness

Are we coming out of the supply issues yet or will there be a back log of 9 months or so for years to come? I probably won’t order for another 6 months or so, am I likely to still have to wait 9 months or so when I order? Or is it gradually catching up?

Your better waiting for the facelift...giving the still horrendous lead times....as they won't catch up not on the 8Y nope not a chance especially with the war in Ukraine....l am hearing of folks who've cancelled their orders....continually now. Facelift is due out in 2024....

Lol can’t wait til 2024. Will they even start a new model if they can’t even sell the current ones?

Nowt to do with can't sell them.....its do with TIME l have been on here a few years and remember guys who ordered a 8V late on in its run....then they where told we can't build your 8v it'll have to be the 8V facelift for you at no extra cost the 8Y will be facelifted after 42 or so months because of its competitors will be facelifted ie A class BMW 1 series etc etc etc as will the 8Y RS3 My car when it arrives will have taken 16/17 month's ergo

Ordered mine November and still haven't heard a word from my dealer :(
Funny thing is that when I ordered the car my dealer told me that if I would order the Sedan they would be built in May this year. Kind of wondering if that was gonna be the case if I ordered the sedan over the sportsback lol
