Ordered SB Vorsprung Daytona August 21 via Shxtstone (Whetstone) Audi, still waiting, and waiting, BW29 now disappeared, no new BW.
I'm assuming the majority on here are doing finance of somekind, well we all know interest rates are now going up, and up, probably base rate 2.5% or more by next year.
Audi finance PCP has increased from 5.8 to +7 in the last year, so will only go higher.
Not looking good especially as my car doesn't look like arriving any time this side of next spring.
When my so called 'new' RS3 finally arrives it will be 2yrs old for fxxxs sake.
I'm seriously considering keeping the 8y and waiting for the facelift in 2024ish.
At least then this Russian shxt and all the fallout might have calmed down.
Might even get a decent options choice by then......
What's does the forum think ?

It's all doom & gloom in the news and for the economy now with a recession predicted to kick in from October and last to the end of next year ***.
Cost of living / soaring interest rates / energy prices predicted to climb much higher / Russian War / Tension In Taiwan and any blockades could further affect global microchip shortages as I am sure I heard Taiwan produces a staggering 60% of the worldwide supply (if that is correct).
its all going to $hi7 isn't it.
How this will knock on to residuals of second hand cars and prices of new cars is anyones guess.

Now that's got me thinking I've signed the finance for my car at a certain interest rate/deposit can't remember the rate but due to the delays will/would l have to resign a finance agreement with a higher interest rate????
They can go and xxxx themselves if that's the case
Speaking of the 2024 facelift model how much is that going to be? list for my car now is £65,500 which is £6k more when l ordered my car.... so a facelift car will roughly increase by about £1000 to £1400 so £67k which would be silly money for a very fast A3 with a sunroof and a look at me colour

The finance deal that was done at point of sale is what you’ll pay, as will the price, according to my dealer. If rates went the other way, as they did with my Golf R, they put me on the newer lower APR deal.

The wait maybe long but you’ve bagged a great price and lower finance deal than someone ordering now, ohhh some positive news

You’ll get it at the interest rate you signed for originally. I picked mine up two weeks ago and had to re-do the finance as the part-ex and settlement figures had changed and they opened the old ‘deal’ to revert back to the original rate

Thanks all for feedback.

I made a deposit in Aug 21, but no agreement on finance. That's the usual way, isn't it?
The finance rate will be known at time of picking the car up.
Otherwise you'd have to pay all the time whilst you're waiting for it.

As above I got Audi to quote me on finance, even though I didn’t end up going with them. Original APR was 6.4 but their rates went up to 6.7.

Said they’d still honour the 6.4 when the car came.

Before my salesman could order the car for me l had to be approved for finance l was one of many at the time when VAG where doing spot checks on finance approval so l had to jump through hoops then went on through to the procedure ie as if l where actually buying the car there and then deposit amount/term and was given a monthly figure £££

If you wait for a face lift - How much is it going to cost in 2 years time with very high inflation. Audi will put the price up several times between now and then I’m sure.
If it went up 8% twice, £65k becomes £76k
If it went up 13% twice, £65k becomes £83k
:sign wow:

Yeah and on no planet is the RS3 worth that.

I’ve a hard time justifying it’s ‘normal’ worth.

It was the first time Audi had done this to me but l think it was to do with me still having the TTS...I did the finance when l was on holiday and the TTS was sold as soon as l got back home so all was sorted ....or so l thought ....until this stupidly long wait

The wait time is nothing short of ludicrous mate - for this type of car more so.
Like @8YARWY I am not sure how long I will keep this car as I am not getting the wow factor like I did with my 8v RS3.
It certainly won't be 4 years like my last RS3.
Visually from the outside it looks stunning and performance wise it has more than enough ooomph !
But the sound is a let down and the dark plain interior is now starting to become a dull place to be - it feels like a S Line inside the cabin.
I think I am resigned to keeping it for longer as I don't think I have the appetite for getting another car and that's easier said than done at the moment anyway.
Plus I am not sure there actually is anything better than the RS3 - the green brigade have throttled the sound down in all new cars so other than a 718 GTS 4.0 I am not sure how I could address that issue.
In many ways its a superb car but it does not feel as special as my last RS3 did.

I've tried fighting it but it is what it is.
I know am lucky to have this car (with long waiting lists etc) so I will enjoy it as much as I can.
On reflection, I think we were spoiled with the 8V.
Saying that I do think a LOT has to do with the interior and I know you @jassyo06 have mentioned this countless times and you were right buddy.
Just a dash of contrast stitching would have made a world of difference - on the seats / steering wheel / door arms / centre arm rest.

I'll definitely be keeping mine - but it may be a 2 year car rather than 3 or 4.
I can't be ar$8d with looking at anything else tbh and still think its the best of what there is (in this price bracket and market sector).

I’ve been looking at TTS’s…

Much nicer place inside.

I could buy an older one and bank 27k.

That's not a bad shout - get one before they throttled back the sound and looks wise still the current model all said and done.
I previously had 2 x TT's so would not be averse to having one again.
What is the latest model year still had the engine's with full sound ?

I presume anything before 2019 but as it’s a 4 pot then not much in the way of sound

My TTS sounded ****** great even at a stand still and once run it popped and crackled on downshifting...plus the 5 pot sound is pumped in

Crikey, and of April!

You had a similar build time to me didn't you? Early November?

I haven't got one at all now.

Speaking with my salesman today via email he said the car l ordered will no doubt be a new model year car as Audi change MY model range between April/May this could also be the reason you haven't received a build date?
That aside if l see a car l like after the new year l am just going to get it....it would be 20 months between the date l ordered if it gets delivered in May

As youve said before mate ‘bigger priorities’.
It’s a great car in many ways so I will stick and see what’s happening in the car world next year …. Maybe lol
