my 18t is on 59,000 miles and its telling me service due in 28 days.
what sort of money am i looking at ?
do they turn of the message in my dis ?
is it worth doing it myself using genuine parts, if so how do i turn the message off.

found a page on ebay from stafford audi for a bronze service for £79 can this be right?

cheers

Hi 1Wheel

The service indicator would b reset if audi serviced it, if however you did this urself...swithch engine off press the spanner and hold while turning on the egnition, this sould either activate "service in ????km" or "service".Now press and hold the trip (0.0) until the display shows Service in-----km---days.

Basic service from audi £250 - £300 depending where u go, 60k on the clock i would do water and coolant and pump, cam belt , but i noticed that there is someone here on the forum who does this for 220 including a service (if u provide the parts) while he has got ur car. 4-5 hours thats a cracking price.
I just ordered my oil/air/pollen filer from vagparts and including vat n delivery was £40 ish.
Cheers J

edit*****sorry 1wheel, the dude in question is on another audi forum, but for £220 u get this....
For 220 you get new cambelt kit + tensioner and relay roller, new uprated watter pump with metal impeller, auxiliary drive belt and AC belt + a fresh G12+ coolant fill and a diagnostic check as well. If you want a service, i dont charge any more on top of that if you bring your own parts, or just the cost of parts if supplied by me. I use quality Contitech cambelt kits, KWP/Meyle OEM watter pumps and INA/Littens OEM tensioners/rollers.

cheers turbo

i didnt think it needed all that till 80,000 but if it does have you got any details of him so i can get old of him.
more ****** money on the car,the bike takes a back seat again!
thanks again mate

Further to this, when and if you do this proceedure the display will read 'Service due in ---------' for approx 500 miles while it recalibrates itself. So don't worry about that.

1 wheel u are correct about the 40k belt ect...but what i was thinking is for say £300 tops u got the lot done and a good night sleep for another 40k, just trying to balance between Audi service and what u could get for the equivlent ££££?

Ill Pm u the link now m8 and u can take it from there.

I always order my service via E-Bay and Stafford Audi cracking price can't fault them.

niknak is that price right, it seems silly cheap to me especially being an audi dealer, it seems to good to be true as there not far from me at all.
are they good, as i have only ever used derby audi which were great when i had an s3 from them and then they closed down and i was forced to use my local leicester audi NEVER AGAIN !!!!!

£79 :hubbahubba: that is a cracking price, only thing i would say is the usage of a semi-synth oil ?Niknak do they do the air filter too?

Cheers J

Add a zero to the end of that and that wasnt far away from what Glasgow Audi wanted initially to service my S4 at 50,000 miles!!!

It is a great price and the service I recived was fantastic. I have always done oil changes myself in the past but after working out the price of oil and filter, my time, and the stamp in the service book I decided I had no option but to take the drive to Staffordshire Audi. They used Castrol Edge in my car. The service is oil and oil filter change, all fluids topped up, and the car is given the once over. They dont change the air or pollen filters but that is only a 5 minute job.

Coyote, i have just done oil and oilfilter, air filter and pollen filter and 4ltr castrol edge, this all came up at £82.....so for the money superb.I just wish it was closer to me....i like Tractorman have felt the pain of sticking my car into Europes biggest audi delearship (glasgow) and i am still smarting from the bill i have recieved and that was a while ago....i think im gonna frame the invoice and every time the wife moans about not having a holiday, am gonna point to the frame and say "thats were ur holiday went babe" the joys of driving vorchsprung durch technic style.:arco:

Cheers J

i rang them today and its booked in for sat 11.00 am,
i can confirm it is only £79, yes its castrol oil, filter and small inspection aswell as top ups on other fluids.
he said that i should have the silver service at 60,000 miles which is £125.00.
i asked him what extra i got for the extra fee and he told me that i only got a little more inspection and a pollen filter.
i then asked how much a pollen filter was.
he told me it was £15 inc, so i told him i would buy one from him and fit it myself, to which he replied, fair enough, if you do that then i will tick it off on your service book for you.

so i get a genuine audi service, reset my display on dash and fluids topped up and book stamped for £79, not even worth lifting the bonnet for.
it would cost me that in parts.

people on here have highly recommended them and use regular.:yahoo:
