Right now, it's way too cold to start such a project.
 
Tempted, but I couldn't take the humiliation should I come up against some chav in a stripped out astra packing an overboosted turbo V6.

well up for it, depends on engine being ready and in. as I have done nothing to it since July it is likely to be spring at the earliest
 
If there are enough people from ASN interested then we could try to sort out a realistic date. Would be brilliant to see some of the projects on here ripping up the Strip!!

If Outlaw has the S8 engine installed, myself and my lady will be interested.

I know my son would definitely love watch - he's 4, but car crazy already.
 
I think I'll try to make it. It's a five hour drive for me to get there, but that's whay I keep a sleeping bag in the car.!
 
That's more like it!!.. I need somebody to destroy my mates Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo and I kind of said don't mess with 'THE ASN' ha.

Would be brilliant to get a good presence and nice to see families/partners there too.
 
Reminds me of the old days with my RS2-engined B2 Coupe quattro.

All the time I owned it, I never gave away spec or power output, so she remained very competitive. Without a power figure, the competition don't know what figure they need to attain, or exceed.

Standard..

Engine Size1998 cc, Cylinders 5, 0-60 mph 6.3 s, Power Output 220 bhp, Valves 20, Torque 310 Nm 229 lb-ft, Top Speed 155 mph.


..but he know's his way around an engine bay and last time we spoke it was running slightly more boost than standard!!

He's got a major weight advantage as it's only made from paper and as big as a shoe.

I remember those cars fondly.

A good friend of mine is really into them - we had many friendly drags dow the pod, though he never managed to beat me - my car had a lot of power, though was 4 wheel drive, and considerably heavier.
 
Yeah not many standard cars at the same price can come close to the Coupe.. quick cars!

With any luck the Italian build quality will shine through and something will fall off ha!

No but healthy competition has got to be good.. Right?!
 
tbh his weight advantage isnt very great/non-existant

LTBHP says it weighs 1307kg, with an 03 plate FWD A4 1.8T weighing 1375kg (i'd imagine B5 is more like 1250-1300 as the B5 A4 1.8T quattro only weighs 1380kgs)

He has 220hp stock but without changing the stock blower i cant see him getting much over 280hp, so it will be pretty close to a tuned A4 imo, although it might need a big turbo car or a tuned S4 to actually beat him.

Well that said I'm going for 220 - 230 HP (with remap) so I'm going to give it a go but with a 6.3 sec 0 - 60 time I think I might be pushing my luck.

I would've thought the Coupe would be much lighter.. shows what I know!
 
I would like to do this but with this set back i dont think i will make the money for fuelling and remap in time. I said to the missus that we would take it to a few events when its done

Yeah I feel for you mate.. can't believe what happened to your motor must be a one in a million chance.

Well hopefully you have some good fortune and you can make it to this event.. A good few months yet.

Yes mate def going to happen.

If we can agree on a date and get enough people to make a commitment then I think we'd be best to make a group booking and get our own designated area?

I think camping is an option but obviously the weather will play a big part.

What is the general opinion on a date?
 
Hmm, will see what I can do.

I'd personally peg this around April / May, it'll be warmer too.
