OK, anyone tried Kart Drifting? My mate has invited me to a Kart Drifting session in Bracknell. I don't have the full details, but it's $58, and they are using an icerink for the event. I'm guessing they are low powered karts with studded tyres, but I have no idea.

maybe just go karting in the wet? You have to change your lines but really makes you learn to find the grip.

its good fun karting in the wet. you find out who can drive and who cant then.

Nono, it's definitely driving on ice, it's £54 for the session, and it's goddam fully booked! I'm 1st on the reserves list lol, seems very popular.

Is there a website jojo, I'd be interested one day in this?

I'm not sure, I'll look into it, like I said before, my mate invited me to go, he had already booked himself and colleagues.

I'll post up any info I can get, sounds like a bit of fun, maybe an AS.net day out even? :racer:

I've sort of done it. I once went to a test session at a track in Northampton and the track was all iced over. Everyone else waited for it to thaw out.... I went straight out with a set of wets on. Was great fun! The engine would SCREAM up the back straight but it wouldn't pick up much speed. :) The only way to go round corners was to swing the back end out... You'll love it mate!

Now looking at that I'm tempted! I'm gonna be back in the UK next week for a couple of weeks so I'll try and get a few people down there!

You need to book pretty quick, my mate asked me if I wanted to go.... 6 spaces left, I said yes an hour later.... no spaces left lol

OK guys, I just attended this event, and it was a crappy Oval circuit in the middle of the icerink. I was 1st in the reserves list, but everyone turned up, so I didn't actually get to go on, but my mate told me it was rank and a waste of money, no fun at all. There was a bit of drifting from the studded tyred GoKarts, but overtaking is almost impossible, and any touching of the tyres which was used to makeshift the course resulted to a BlackFlag and 10 secs of the circuit which spoiled the event for many drivers... good idea in theory, but in practice, it's more fun to drive on an outdoor track with slicks for the same money!

That sounds like a disappointment! Mind you, they probably dont want to fill out paperwork for injuries which is why they want people off the barriers. Still, a bit OTT.
