I need a couple of ideas of how to fit these S6 LED on a S-line bumper with out getting rid of the Fog lights!!!
S6_LED_DRL.jpg

I think the picture below is a photoshop job. But would love it to look like that.

yeah looks cool im sure a guy on audizine has done it i might be getting mixed up with an a4 though.... i wouldnt mind it myself.

Yeah I'd say thats a photo shop mate. I think you're either guna have to loose the fogs or custom the surround.

What does everyone think of the led lights? I kinda like em but prefer them next to the fog light rather than on top. Anyone got any pics???

I'd sit them back tbh, not frontal feature so they're hidden down low, they're way to bright for that area & along with fogs is tad to much tbh, seen on few a3's & didnt look great with everything else, to busy

100% it's a photoshop.

I don't really like the LEDs in that low down position tbh. They look miles better as part of the headlight unit, but that's obviously a lot harder to retrofit!

Yeah but with the foglights right next to it, I mean it looks naff, at least change the fog bulbs.

Im not feeling those AT ALL!!

Looks like something you can find for a fiver in the halfords bargain bucket. Sorry

Your right it does look a bit too busy......I might just get rid of the fogs and just have the LED's .....even thou I would love to have both...

Sorry - not my cup of tea - leave them where they belong - on an 09 facelift.

its abit 50/50 with everyone, I do kinda like them as long as there done properly and look tidy, there's alot of A3's with them on the american forums, here's 2 I've come across that I think pull it off.

Yeah i like the way the yanks mod there cars on audizine there always on the deck ... and quite mad with some styles they like there ottingers to are you sure there rs6 lights on them though lee or just leds coming through the centre bars going accross the fog surrounds witch if they are looks better imho....

I have to agree, those arent rs6 led strips at all just led's I believe cause the strip wouldnt fit there & it looks actually very good tbh where as the rs6 one on 8P looks little pants

yeah there just leds but I really like them and do think they look better than the rs. It could be on my list when I get mine haha Think it'll be easy to do with the leds?

I think ive seen a how to guide somewhere lee, although i cant remember what site it was sorry..i cant imagine them to be too hard though

Yeah Im sure someone will come across one, although these are done on the pre facelift and sit pretty well in between the grill.

it looks naff with all them leds though the yanks use different ones and are more spaced out and look much better the rs6 ones would look nice if they were back a little more like nhn said and gunsmoked lamin x so you could only really see them at night in the day they would blend in nice ...

Alright diggs mate,

I think you would be better without a fog light in there... I am sure I have seen some A3's with deleted fogs, the bumper has a black cover replacing the hole where fog would usually sit in. Can't say that I remember seeing them on an S-line bumper though.

I'd want the LED go across the whole fog surround mate. Although the ones posted above from audizine look good. I think it would look better without the fog light and fewer slightly larger LED spaced out as blazin points out

Yeh.. RS I think that's what I'm gonig with.....:o.k:.

Looks pish can't beat the real 09 thing

Agreed, i'm surprised at how many people actually think these stuck on LED's look good? Stop kidding yourselves!

They look cheap and tacky...really something you would expect to find on barryboys.co.uk

I disagree.

I think the OEM '09 LEDs look worse. If they'd done them in a similar style to either the RS6 or A5, then I'd agree with you, but on the A3 they look like a half-hearted attempt that they gave up on halfway through the design. Even if they'd just continued them along the entire top of the headlight unit it would look loads better, but having them stop halfway just looks stupid IMO.

Nope I have to disagree, non factory leds look paints. They dont have anywhere near the intensity of them and always end up failing as they are always cheepo made in china with not enough regulation to stop them blowing.

i agree with frenchy, i think the positioning of them doesnt do any justice for the car, fair enough originals will always be better, but if the positioned them like the a5, would be much nicer

No, I'm afraid it's you who appears to be wrong. He's talking about fitting factory S6 LED units, so of course they'll be as bright and reliable as anything else out of the Audi factory!

(BTW, it's "pants' not "paints") ;)

mine have never blown and mine are the cheepo ones, the are fine for me, and the drl arent even meant to be bright, they are just meant to emit a little bit of light for day time driving.

That looks alright drsilvuro, is it yours? I'd prefer that the lights were in the middle of the mesh. Further down than they are presently. Seen a similar bumper and LED set up on ebay

OK I stand corrected, but I still think the 09 DRLS on A3 look cool. They look like a couple of menacing eyebrows coming up behind you:cool:

Oh and thanks for the typo correction:applaus:

I quite agree!

Had some tit in a chaved up Vectra flash me and give me the thumbs up as he drove past me with his halfords/ebay special LED's burried in the bottom of the bumper:no:

is there no way of opening the OEM headlight and fitting them infront of the original headlights. You could always drill a tiny hole for the leads to pass through so you could not see them. Or are the rs6 leds totally a different shape.

Where did you manage to get those leds? just wondering i might give it a go myself:cool:
