Hi.Have a 2009 a4 170 tdi and fancy a remap.Nothing massive, just enough for an extra 30 bhp or so and more torque.Apparantly my engine is a ppd170, which is somewhat differant to other ecu's.Id been recommended Revo, but I spoke to them yesterday and they dont do one for it, stating that theres too many problems either immediatly or six months down the line. Now if someone as major as Revo have concerns, should i risk it from someone else???

Hi John,

Try AMD.
They said to me in the past that if revo didn't have one, they would?

That was for my 170 A3.

The trouble with the PD170 is it has a DPF in the exhaust that gives quite a lot of problems when standard and gets worse when remapped. Best and safest thing to do would be to get the DPF mapped out and removed replacing it with a Milltek DPF off down pipe. With the DPF removed the car will make a safe 220-230 bhp and no more DPF regen lights or problems.

Custom code knows his stuff, not dealt with him personally but exchanged a few emails, he's who i'll be using if i do get around to needing a remap on my old VE type 1.9

You intend going to jbs :puke2:with your car from Bristol ?

Just had mine remapped again as i wasnt happy with original results now has approx-

275bhp, 585nm Torque :arco:

Still letting the ECU learn the new map at the moment though so may increase and was hot on the day of the map also.

A guy near myself does it and has done many cars he currently has an aston martin vanquish for EVO magazine which he is fitting a supercharger to.

If your local to loughborough, he charges around £300.00 for a map.

Thats the sort of gains you should get when remapped.

Tell him Darren with the 3.0 A4 sent you.

Im nipping down again hopefully next week so if you like we could meet and you could follow me down.

That first map is based on the 240bhp new A4 and to me shows the car has had a full performance map and not a combination of power and economy.

The second shows the B7 3.0 has only around 340nm of torque which is rubbish as my car had around 450nm of torque standard.

I am not knocking the map you had on your car especially as i cannot see a dyno graph of the power but....
The first map is from Superchips who are well known for there safe maps and the map shown is a standard map. What makes you say it`s a full performance map plus all generic maps are a mix of power/economy/smoke output. The second Revo Technic map has the torque quoted in LB`s like it should be in England until companies started to use Nm as the numbers shown are higher and most people who want a remap just look for the heightest number for "the best remap", 332 lb torque is 450nm.
