This is the second time N8 and I have worked together now. Our first, was on the rather nice Audi TT from a few weeks back.
This time round, its a kitted out A3 Sportback in black. Again, a lovely looking Audi!
I set off at 5am to make it to Mancs for 7. The early start saw us packing the wash kit away at 9am; allowing the full day for polishing. Nice!

So, after setting and kitting up, we took a look at the days project..
A lovely looking sportback.. Boasting a few S3 items, too. (Im sure N8 will fill us in on this in more detail later)
To the trained eye, however, it had seen better days..
For an 08 car, it was quite shocking.
Some panels were OK, just the usual defects youd expect on a car of this age. However, some areas were horrific! The bonnet was especially weird.. The above photo of the buffer-trails is on the side flank (if you like..) of the bonnet.. (on both sides.) The middle section though, was trail free. Some panels had been mopped before (badly..) and some, hadnt. The roof was victim of similar treatment all over
Taking a side each, we started with the wheels. (which looked practically new; except some unusual pitting on the inner rims on a couple of them)
Cleaned with AutoSmart G101 and various brushes/mitts/towels.
We then attacked the door shuts/engine bay.. later rinsing before the foam stages.
After rinsing from foam, it was washed with Megs Shampoo Plus and the Lambswool mitt.
De-contamination was done with Sonus Green claybars.. Some rough areas dotted around, but, in all, relatively clean.
One great thing about being with N8 in Mancs, is the underground facilities. Come rain or shine, we will work till 9 (
) . One downer though, is the flooding setback. Taking it in turns, wed keep on top of the standing water by pushing it through to the drains.. (squeegee went missing so the brush had to suffice)
My Avant hiding well out of the way this time: (caused all sorts of traffic problems last visit)
Ok, so.. Whilst N8 disappeared to make some coffee, I cracked on with the taping.
And had a better look round now the car was clean..
Starting with the rough areas on the bonnet:
a 3M yellow polishing and 106FA was used to deliver the following:
Actually, no; I tell a lie. That was after 203s..
The 106FA removed some 70% of the marks and buffer-trails, but, a few deeper marks remained. 203s didnt deliver perfect results, but many of the deeper scratches were this time, removed.
Chinese, anyone? Lol
Whilst I made light work of the large panels, N8 operated the PC7424 and made his way round the bumpers, skirts and A-pillars etc.
50/50 on the roof..
50/50 on the n/s rear quarter:
