Charlie Farley's 350BHP & beyond 2.0tfsi BUL Engine and K03/4 upgrade project, maybe just 300bhp now.

Not sure if this will be any use to you Rob but just been browsing on Copart and found this https://www.copart.co.uk/lot/29475020 No details or specifics and no guarantee its a BUL but if it comes cheap and you can find a way of bidding it might come cheap.

What predictions were you getting for the power from what you have with a hybrid core? It's like anything in that you get to a highish figure quite easily but then it gets harder (and more expensive) for smaller and smaller increases, The law of diminishing returns in F1 speak. I'm just thinking...

Auto dimming Rear view mirror advice

The forward facing sensor in the mirror is a light sensor as the mirror only works in the dark but it doesn't output this signal.

    Sline avant mudflaps

I'll second that the standard Audi ones fit fine even though they say not for S line. It stands to reason really since the difference between standard and S line trim is in the rear bumper spoiler and the door blades which have no bearing in the fit of the flaps!

Auto dimming Rear view mirror advice

Working from memory here but I'm sure the coming home lights use the rain sensor not the mirror as a light sensor. The mirror has its own sensor in the front (facing the windscreen) but its a self contained unit and doesn't output the light signal.

****** hell Rob, Things are deffo not going to plan. I felt sure you'd see 350 as it was since its mostly K04 but then maybe I didn't allow for the fact the K03 compressor housing isn't optimal. To be fair though its pushed you into going further and onto the 400 you would always be coveting...

Why is the 2.0tfsi B7 such a good car, here's why.

I'm on my fifth now with the S4 and have had most popular variants with 2wd, Quattro's, oil burners and also a couple of Tfsi's. I love the V8 but it has meant that it has become a second car but that only increases the pleasure I get when I get back in it. It's one of those cars where...

BUL with K03 Turbo , why not a BUL with K04 that is the question.

It's still all in the garage at the moment Alex but it's on the list with a few things to part company with as I have an impending house move on the way. I bought a used K04 turbo and altered the exhaust stud pattern to match the B7 exhaust flange. I also bought a new Chra (turbo core) and...

Re-trimming and modifying my interior parts.

would you be better getting some spare trim strips for the door card and fitting the illumination into them? It looks like you're thinking of going above the strips in the door card itself which might mean the strip blocks the light. Its something I have thought about as its a really nice effect...

    B7 possible quattro conversion

I considered doing this to that car for mostly the same reasons Alex but decided against it based on it never likely happening. That is a lovely car and it would be hard to find a quattro in comparable condition for sensible money particularly an Avant in Missano red. Having said that the...

Panel gap between bumper and bonnet

The adjusters on the crash bar are designed so that the part the bumper sits on adjusts up as you tighten the screw until it meets resistance as it contacts the bumper then the screw tightens down with the top part to clamp the bumper. It does this in reverse when undone so that the adjuster...

B7 2.0 TFSI Piston ring replacement

Its a head off and sump off job to do rings Rob as you have to compress the rings to get the piston to slide into the cylinder and the ring compressors are designed to work from the top, besides which you would also need to remove the crank to get them out of the bottom. Just another thought...

    Ambient Lighting question.

I agree the handle illumination is pitiful and the footwell lights aren't much better either but at least they are easily upgraded with led units. I bought two new bulbs from TPS for some handles I had in my last car and they came red instead of clear like the originals but the output was sadly...
