Yeah its definately turned on "econ off / light out", im assuming its the seals in the compressor as there is a slight drop in tempreture when its turned on but its very minor.

Just an update, seems that it was simply a tensioner that's was causing the noise, the garage have put some grease on it as a temporary fix and the noise has gone. Sounded so much like a tappet noise.
