Hello everyone,
I am trying to install facelift USDM led taillights on my b8.5. The biggest issue I am running into is coding of course, as the wiring was relatively simple. I only recently got access to a VCDS cable to make a channel map and here are the results...
here is the proper wiring, according to kufatec harness. Everything works perfectly for me except high beams, which require a different CECM to work properly. I know the component protection is needed, this is why I didn't even change the CECM

no do not try this! it will burn out the motor. Yes there is a solenoid but it only needs a few miliseconds of current to move the light up to high beam. then you need an inverted voltage to move it back down again. If you apply positive 5V then you will permanently move the light up, or you...
High beams will NOT work on b8.5 lights without the proper CECM. Halogen high beams have a seperate circuit which illuminates a bulb, and the high beam in HID housings is triggered by a motor that moves the lens up and down. if you apply constant high beam voltage you WILL burn the motor out...
after looking at the diagrams, pins 10 and 12 on the HID headlight regulate the LED's, while pin 4 controls the DRL on the halogen headlights. Did you run HID lamp pin 10 or 12 to harness pin 7?
Hello, is there any way to get DRL's running using the OEM LED ballasts? I am running a kufatec adapter and stock BCM but for the life of me I cannot get them to light up. For reference I changed the values on byte 1 to 23 on bye 3, 00 to 1o, set the LED brightness to 75 in adaptation.
Thank...
