cheers for that info. that explains the reason im still seeing torque values in vcds then. I wonder if I can clone the sensor readings across to the faulty sensor? it would presumably fix the error.
What I don’t get is why when I watch the torque value in vcds it is changing by a fair amount - in one direction and + in the other. Surely if the rack sensor was knackered it wouldn’t change at all.
I might ask a guy at work who has a Skoda with the mk60 to let me watch the torque value on his...
I had a google and seems the steering ecu is under the steering column. I’m going to try unplugging and plugging the connectors first. Then as ch1z64 suggests get the wiring diagram and have a look.
I have found if I delete the code whilst the ignition is on then got for a drive all is well...
the reason I don't think the rack has gone is because when I bought the car it had this error before I started trying to fix its problems:
00829 - Heater Control Module (J162) 009 - Open or Short to Ground
I wonder when I cleaned the engine if the water has caused an issue or when I was...
ive googled it and found that the steering ecu is separate under the steering wheel. so as ive had those covers off maybe ive knocked something ill check later.
after the diesel purge the figures are about -0.12 to -0.15 for the first 2 cylinders and 0.12 to 0.15 for the other 2. so it seems the purge has levelled up the injectors nicely.
well it only had about 800 miles left before a service, I do short trips so as it was on variable servicing I decided to switch it to fixed servicing while I was at it. the glow plugs were defo gone as vcds picked them up as an error, plus when we pulled them and tested each only one would work...
not really throwing money away as it needed a service anyway. just strange how putting new stuff on it seems to have made it a bit worse. maybe because the new air filter is letting a bit more air in so weakening the mixture, though the maf should compensate.
ive got this error on 2005 A3:
00573 - Steering Torque Sensor (G269): Implausible Signal
ive checked and the torque value changes as I turn the steering wheel. my mechanic has noticed the steering is very tight when it was on a 2 post lift and he tries to turn the wheel by hand. so we found...
well changed the: oil filter, air filter, oil, pollen filter, replaced all 4 glow plugs (3 were dead, explains the loud nailing one cold morning). haven't checked the consumption but it seems to have brought back the idle issue. plus when I went to start it this morning it wasn't happy, the...
Ok did a 500ml diesel purge tonight, going to do a fuel filter and oil change tomorrow. Already the engine seems quieter and the rough idle is almost gone. Think I’ll get the garage I use for general mech stuff to help me adjust the timing to -0.5kw. Then I think I can adjust the idle back to...
