Don't bother, run it through the gap between the headlining and A-pillar at the top of the windscreen and then run it behind the window seal down to the bottom of the A-pillar and back across into the dash.
None what-so-ever, it's run like a dream.
I spent an awful lot of time testing the fuses to make sure they worked as expected, including removing the fuse and running the car to ensure it threw up the right warnings when the engines was on/off.
Thanks for your help @Dippy . When I tested B12 with my voltmeter is was permanent, unfortunately.
In the end I went for:
Permanent: B8 - Interior Light (headliner)
ACC: D1 - Seat ventilation, interior mirror, A/C control console (rear), windscreen heating

I am having an issue with my own S5 in selecting the right fuses.
At the moment I have identified in Carrier C, Fuse 6 'Sockets' as the battery, but can't find a suitable 'switched' fuse, which doesn't appear to be really important.
