Ahh ok, I was thinking that having the pegs would be particularly good at imitating OEM!
That's great to see though, thanks for the input! And you find that it's perfectly secure? I think that's all I needed to know, really helpful. It doesn't sound like I need to worry about them being secure.
Ah is that right! Because I'm looking at the Cruz Airo Fix bars which use that fitting kit. And that definitely goes into the holes? That's great to know!
Yeah the OEM ones are only available through dealerships/OEM parts dealers, but that's not what I'm asking. I'm saying that all other roof bars - including Thule - do not have the little pegs which go into the holes on the roof rails like the OEM bars, so I'm presuming this doesn't matter.
So I'm looking at roof bars and I see that the Audi bars have little bits that go into the holes on the roof rails, but aftermarket/generic bars for flush roof rails don't have these. Does this matter at all? It doesn't even look like Thule fitting kits have these little bits.
As frequently happens it has stopped doing it and the light is working again. It may do this for a few days or weeks, but will probably go off again. Clearly something is up, but not completely broken.
If anyone has a DIY on how to replace the unit if it does turn out to need it, it would be...
I'm not sure, I don't have VCDS but it's going in for a service next week so I'll get them to check then.
Sometimes I can give the light/spoiler a few whacks and it works.
Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search but couldn't find a DIY for an Avant.
I've had an intermittent fault with this light for a while now, and it seems to do it every time now so I think I need to get the unit replaced. The unit itself isn't expensive so I'd like to do it myself...
So I've had my B8.5 for about a year, and for the first service it needed after I bought it I got a dealer service. I don't have a stamp book, it's all done through Audi's system, and I remember the car alerted me about a service being required every time I got in.
So my question is can I get...
Ok so I've got it wired to the driver side (RHD) and it's all good. The black fuse carrier seems to be switched live. No issue with the stop start as the camera doesn't switch off instantly. I just stuck it in a blank space on the black carrier a (neg to the bolt at the top) seems to be working...
Me too but occasionally I'm away for a whole weekend and the car just sits. I suppose it can be switched off manually though. I assume there would be no drain if I just unplugged the camera from the mount (it's a new nextbase with the magnetic mount).
