Nearly 700 miles range on 40 TDI !!

My bindle is in km as I'm not in the UK anymore but I regularly see 1100km (683 miles) projected range when I fill up my 40TDI avant (std tank). I do get 1000km+ on a tank normally, gentle driving round town with the odd longer journey. Given how big and heavy it is I continue to be pretty...

Car has arrived, storage pack and Boot question.

Hi Jsmills, Sorry I've moved country (end of last year even) but not had the chance to take the armrest apart and fit it. Once I do I will update. Cheers

    Safety Recall 27H2 - 45TFSI Starter/Alternator

Yes I assume getting the parts will be as big an issue as getting time in the dealer's garages

    Safety Recall 27H2 - 45TFSI Starter/Alternator

Hi Mcarda, I've not got a letter yet but, I've read this on one of the other sites too (which had a link to the attached EU notice) looks like it's the 2.0l diesels as well - that is a lot of cars over a 3 year period ...

Car has arrived, storage pack and Boot question.

Hi Essex-man, I had the same issue - I'd ordered an A6 Avant without perhaps understanding all the options properly. I did a bit of digging around with Audi part numbers as I suspected that the blanking panel in the rear arm rest was exactly the same size & fitting as the cup holder panel (it...

    S6 to be diesel.....

extras or not 77k is pretty punchy. You would really have to hope the new s-diesel engine is a bit special, even so it would still be top dollar

    A6/S6/Allroad (C8 Chassis) Picture Thread

Knocking back the fake exhaust tips to black to match the rest of the rear under bumper makes a huge difference, having them in chrome (like most of us) only highlights how poorly executed they are as fake tips, now they just blend into the other skirt details. Rest of the car looks great too...

Adaptive cruise control - from standstill

Hi b1nuzz, Thanks for that info, it still feels pretty new at the moment :) I'd recalled a longer run in period from what I'd read online but not sure where I read it. Thankfully most of the time I'm in no rush to get places but good to know I can give it a little welly without doing any...

Adaptive cruise control - from standstill

Thanks Haz That makes sense, I'll try again next time I'm out. I don't recall which drive mode I was in at the time as I was trying out a couple (likely Comfort or even Eco) but it was definitely not Dynamic so still may be a little punchy. The adaptive cruise control works really nicely...

Adaptive cruise control - from standstill

I've used the adaptive cruise control from standstill a couple of times and I have to say I find it pretty heavy on the throttle to get it up to speed, especially given the car has only done 2000 miles. I'd have thought the MMI knew the total milage of the car and would have adjusted the rate...

    A6 lot of error

Not a lot of error but I did have most of the drivers assistance functions stop in the middle of a long drive on the weekend. I was on the motor way and had messages saying there was an error, or an issue with the surrounding environment and the drivers assistance functions were disabled (blind...

    manual paddle question

Hi Dave, Thanks for that - as you say it may be to do with the efficiency mode but it seems a little odd as it certainly seemed more efficient to be running in 7th @ 1300 rather than 6th at 1850 given we were crusing on the flat and the engine was under no real load. It is certainly within the...

    manual paddle question

Hi Dave, I suspect that may be the case but makes the manual override slight redundant if it won't allow you to over ride :) I did try on the gear selector, but to be honest when I found auto (or any other mode) allowed me to select 7th when I wanted I stopped looking too hard. Was just...

    manual paddle question

Hi All, I have a 40tdi with the 7 speed box and just a question after a drive on the weekend, I've not had a chance to read through the manual yet but wondered if there was any reason why I couldn't manually click up to 7th gear when it was running in "efficiency" in 6th gear. Ironically I...
