In the past week my 2012 A4 Avant has deceloped a issue when I request heat through the climate conrol unit. The majority of the time it will not blow hot air, however periodically it will be hot and function normally. I have tried to diagnose the problem but looking for some feedback...

Those are the fixing brackets, the cross rail lengths are different between the A4 and Q5, this is what I am trying to work out based on the difference between the two car flush rail dimensions.

I have the hole cut out in the valance, so I am guessing I have all the wires there ready to make the connections with the electronics kit, I am just wondering if it is easily identifiable which wires are for the tow bar and if the connections are roughly located where the image above shows.

Thanks Norad, I shall test it first. My cigar lighter isn’t permanent live however, it only has power when the ignition is on. I was looking for a fuse that supplies power regardless of ignition status. For example my radio works regardless of whether the ignition is on or not.
