Is it feasible that a broken drive shaft can cause a complete lack of drive? Surely there should still be some drive from the other drive shaft and wheel?

At the wheel end, although have to say there is movement back and forth between wheel end and gearbox end???

Is drive shaft replacement a big/costly job? Thanks Tony

Thanks, I never realised it was front wheel drive, I just always assumed it was rear wheel drive....you live and learn. Thanks Tony

Ok I have managed to get the car towed to my house, I removed the drivers front wheel as this is where the grinding noise was coming from, behind the wheel and brake assembly there is a drive shaft/half shaft this is broken.....however as you probably guessed I am no mechanic.....why would this...

SDCard is via USB reader which are in my monitor, slots are seen as Removeable drives, card is currently formatted as FAT32, reformatted it last night on removal of card from system to try your app, cards are 4gb cards
