BKD Turbo Removal -Sticky Vane Syndrome

Hey Guy's Any got handy a guide for removing the turbo on a BKD? Believe my Variable Vane Turbo may be sticking as Limp Mode is becoming the norm during a journey and have an over boost fault code showing. I've had a look underneath and it's well and truly hidden at the back, instead of...

    iPhone 5 & RNS-E compatibility

Thanks NHN. I think you could be right as it's a 2004/05 car. Although it worked perfectly on my iPhone 4 so can't understand why it won't work on my iPhone 5 You mentioned resetting the BT module; how is this done?

What Mileage have your cars done?

Bought at 49k now on 161k still running smooth although did need a new clutch at 120k and it does somewhat bellow out smoke when flooring it. Starts on the button when cold (warm takes a few revolutions before it catches) But other than that it still seems rock solid.

    Ahhhh S***, Dropping Doors!

Sounds like the mounting bolts have either come loose or the doors been forced? You'll need to remove part of the inner wheel arch trim in order to access to the outer bolts and obviously the inner interior trim to get to the other side. Should take you roughly 30 minutes if you've never done...

Can this be removed with Paintless dent removal (PDR)?

Shouldn't be quite an easy fix for PDR technician as the access will be extremely easy for them - Access is the biggest ball ache for a PDR Technician. To be honest considering how easy it is to remove the boot trim I'd do it myself (Even though I have been trained in PDR) even if your not...

DIY Cambelt change or leave it to garage

Thanks Robin If I can save £100 then I think it's something that I think I need to research a bit more! Are the any A3 specific guides on changing the belt out there?

DIY Cambelt change or leave it to garage

Fair play but it's a 2004 with 150k on the clock, part service history, tatty paintwork and probably only worth about £2k - so as I'm not intending to sell it I'd rather get the cam belt changed now than pay the concequences just because I'm worried about the resale value.

DIY Cambelt change or leave it to garage

As the thread title suggests I'm interested to see how easy this is achieve. Even though I'm not a qualified mechanic I'm more competent with general servicing and maintaining vehicles, although I've never replaced a cam belt. The main reason for this is to try and save money as I'm skint but...
