Thanks guys. Its only slipping a little at the moment, so I'm trying to decide whether now is a good time to trade it in for something different (probably a z4m coupe), or spend the money on a new clutch and keep it for a couple more years.

Apparently the police made an error when they told us they had found teh car abandoned in salford. What they meant was that they saw it drive past a patrol car, but they werent in a position to follow it. So, it looks like we'll be claiming on the insurance, and all the hassle that brings.
