I considered purchasing the autoglym HD wax and I'll probably use it next time. My mate gave me his Meguiars clay bar starter kit with Meguiars 3 step process etc...he said its hard work doing all 3 stages but the end result will be worthwhile. As I said, Im a novice detailer and I trust his...
The hosepipe ban in my region has finally been lifted so I can start cleaning again.
Im a detailing novice and I know everyone has their prefered choice of products. My 1st attempt skeleton plan would consist of:
1. pressure wash any debris
2. snow foam
3. rinse
4. shampoo (2 bucket method)...
Sorry. After re-reading my post and your original post, I don't think it was helpful. No idea what ball park figure you should be aiming for against an S4. I would have thought that a standard 10% discount off any new vehicle is quite achievable. When I'm looking at purchasing a new car, I go...
Didn't bother with discounts from online brokers. Simply walked into a dealership, asked for a trade-in price against my vehicle and left them. Dealer phoned me back the same afternoon and negotiated over the telephone. By tea time the deal was sealed. 10% off new S3 ready for delivery in Oct
I didnt want to say, but since you mentioned it first - I'd have to agree that there's obviosuly strong bias towards S3.
I'd take the S3 now, then get the Rocco next year (or possibly the beef'd up Rocco) - you'll get best of both worlds then!!
I've no experience with remaps for diesels, so I cant comment whether REVO produce 'aggressive' power delivery. I think most tuning company's can/will adjust generic maps to suit your requirements. I know Revo can alter boost, timing & fuel with the select plus switch.
NB - If you do find Iggu's...
So you caught the detailing bug...Im still trying to resist it!
I started with a simple rinse, sponge and rinse but now im claying, polishing, waxing....not got the guts to start drying the car with a leaf blower though!
If you do a search on username 'Iggu' (8P S3) you'll find he initially had the bluefin map and changed onto revo. I've seen torque/bhp graphs comparing the performance from both products on his car - revo product was far superior!
IIRC 'Iggu' had high praise for Superchips and their after...
I have an S3 and my mate has edition 30 DSG
Not very scientific or accurate but we've played around with vagcom
1. S3 faster 0-60 times
2. S3 faster standing start
3. S3=edition 30 rolling start (30-70mph)
Book figures
S3 261 bhp 258 lb ft
Edition 30 227 bhp 231 lb ft
S3 didnt...
IMO - no point cos the 335 petrol coupe is a better performer.
My cousin sneakily purchased 335i petrol coupe a few weeks after I took delivery of my S3. I'd always liked the 335 coupe but stayed with another Audi. At the time, I even considered trading the S3 for 335 coupe but I didnt want an...
It pays to 'shop' around for servicing costs. The S3 is due for its 1st service (oil service) and here are a few quotes:
(without pollen filter change)
Manchester £260
Stockport £212.34
Macclesfield £145
Huddersfield £102.05
Unbelievable - prices vary so drastically
I know many of you may do...
