Thanks guys. Yes FRENCH! I got a fantastic deal on one and it means that I will have no debts as it is being bought with the equity from the Audi. It is one with the keycards, but it has 2 new ones so should be OK!

Today is a sad day, I am selling my A3 and replacing it with a Renault Laguna Estate....:bye: My wife and I had a little girl 3 weeks ago and have come to realise that the A3 Sportback we bought to cope with a child is just not big enough day to day... We do a couple of trips to the continent...

I don't know, but I would imagine the rears will need different hubs because the S3 is 4WD and will have a different rear axle to a 2WD A3.

Coldsteel, my car is making almost the same nosie, but it has only just started and only makes it when the engine & weather are hot. I.e. drive down to the shops on a hot day - no problem. Drive around the New Forest for 2 hrs in 25C+ and it exhibited exactly the same symptoms as you describe...

Similar thing happened on mine a couple of weeks ago. Clock skipped forward 20 mins or so... Easily solved but frustrating!

Sorry to Hijack - NHN if you have the auto-dim RVM, is the wiring already in place for the side mirrors? Or would it be a big ol' job?

To the OP: If you just have a judder if you "rest" your foot on the pedal at idle, I believe this is normal, mine does it, and so have the two TDI loan cards I've had from Audi. I posted about it when I first got mine and everyone told me it was normal. But if you get the judder when moving...

Just my 2p worth mate, my wife and I are expecting and we have bought the Maxi-cosi Cabriofix with the easyfix (ISOFix) base. We also bought one of the Quinny Pushchairs (Speedy I think) which the seat clips into, is nice and light and folds up small, fits perfectly in our 8P A3 SB and my Mk4...

It really is the manufacturers like Audi at fault, but they are certainly not the only ones! Apple specs for the last 3 generations of iPods have used the new pinout, but have also supported the old ones for backward compatibility. Apple have done as they promised and dropped the backward...

Apple have changed the charging pins, they swapped to new ones ages ago, but the latest range of iPods do not support the original ones any more. Same problem with my iphone 3G with my Sony in the Golf, but my old Ipod nano was fine. Known problem I'm afraid...

OK, quick update... Audi originally said they could not find anything wrong and suggested us having the car back to see if it had now gone away... yeah, OK!!! I insisted I didn't want it back until they had found the fault, so the serrvice manager took the car home overnight and brought it...

Interesting, but surely the source of the smoke would be in the ignition switch rather than coming through the steering wheel buttons after driving for 30 mins?
