Hello, I've a 98 A4 Avant. How much work is involved in removing the original roof mount aerial? I looking to replace it with a DAB/FM/AM model or should I just go for an additional glass mount jobbie. I guess it all depends on the coax routing of the original. Any advice is appreciated.

Confirmed by my local independent. A Audi main dealer is the only way to get the immobiliser to function with the replacement key. Both keys need to de coded at the same time otherwise the other will not work. Car now booked in for Thursday. Ho well...

Hi Docurley, I have now got a replacement flip key (same part number). The key will lock/unlock the doors but the dash imobiliser icon repeatedly flashes. Any idea what I have done/doing wrong? Thanks

Hi Doc, thanks for the info. One Question, you mention "switchblade", do you mean the flip type as I'm intending to get a "standard non flip" type (because its a loads cheaper). Will the above instructions still apply? Thanks

Thanks mate that was my gut feeling. He said he will look for a used aircon controller, but he cant get one at the moment. He said the car can be collected. I would need to pay with visa. Does anyone know how I legally stand with this, if after replacing the controller the AC still does not work?
