The service is easy: plugs, filters, oil & basic checks (why they ask for 139.00 is beyond me:mad:) I'm looking at dropping my sump too, I've read its reasonably easy, some corroded bolts to watch for so clean and anti lock spray all bolts etc. Back to servicing though, ev one should really feel...

Thanks WallmOnkey! You sound way more advanced than me, think I may be a little naïve about this job. If I do it rkn I'll stick to pick up pipe and cleaning sump out, possibly oil pump. Also heard that good oil, larger filter & 5k oil /filter changes can clear out a lot of sludge - another way...

Forgot to say: brake reservoir level is OK:thumbsup: But I did notice that the white plastic housing didn't 'sit' completely into the metal housing (weld spatter couldn't be filed flat inside the metal housing).

OK! I'm about 8 years late again for this thread, hoping someone'll answer. Had same prob, housing bracket shattered pedal to floor and bits of plastic on the floor - got it welded and replaced the pedal myself. Spring was put in a vice & cable tied, inserted into position & released. Only prob...

I know its an old thread now but I fitted the med size oil filter and it took about 1/2 - 2/3 more oil on the refill. Looked at the transporter (for a3 18t quatty) filter but wasn't certain about the valves & bypass valve pressure values!? I know the med filter has same valves (bypass and non...

Good job! Apart from oil pump are there any other jobs I could do when sump is off? Any hickups to look out for when dropping sump, I#ve heard its easy enough job but beware of corroded bolts on the sump!?
