    Timing

Hey, is there any chance the pump belt got caught or managed to jump the cambelt timing at all? If the fuel pump is locked up with the pin (roughly in the 12 o'clock position) and the camshaft mark is visible from the oil filler cap (NO3 cylinder tdc iirc) and the camshaft and crankshaft are...

Scumbags, and how to get used oil out of a coolant header tank.

Sorry,im just having a laugh mate, to be honest the silica bags aren't hugely common, ive seen only 2 where they had contaminated the system, and was a major PITA to get that out of the system, both cars lost there heaters,VW sell a special cleaner specifically for that issue and it worked very...

Scumbags, and how to get used oil out of a coolant header tank.

So when a silicone pouch that's fitted inside the VW/Audi expansion tanks ruptures...as they do, how does it end up blocking the matrix? which they do.

Scumbags, and how to get used oil out of a coolant header tank.

How could it possibly empty when there's a coolant return line in the same tank?? whatever gets taken from the tank is put back in through the return line whether its from circulation or expansion, my advice was sound and included minimal risk of contaminating the rest of the system, don't see...

Scumbags, and how to get used oil out of a coolant header tank.

If its ran from cold it can and will draw coolant from the coolant tank, as it circulates around the WHOLE system, the coolant in the header tank doesn't just sit there getting stagnant!

If it hasn't been ran just clean out the header tank (remove it if necessary), if its been ran then you can buy coolant system cleaner/degreaser from places like euro car parts, specifically designed for situations where engines have had oil cooler failures or silicone pouch's burst etc

    A/C problem

Yeah I understand there are different types, however they all require an input voltage to signal the pump to engage, which is why checking for electrical feed at the pump is the easiest way to figure out whats going on :thumbs up:

    A/C problem

Have you checked the A/C relay, your fuse will test ok but if the relay isn't switching then the power will never get to the electromagnetic clutch on the pump, you can just check for a live feed at the A/C pump to determine this, if the wire to the pump doesn't go live when A/C button is...

    Wheel spacers and alignment

What size spacers are we talking about? because 10mm or less should be ok but anything like 20mm would affect geometry to some degree, either way you should get the tracking/alignment checked and set after any steering or suspension work, its a common misconception that they only adjust track...

    Advice for prospective owner??

No regrets when I bought my A4 b8.5 S-line, suspension can be a bit harsh but it handles well and looks the part so worth it imo, mine has the later gen3 tfsi engine and I love it, with the 2.0tdi been a stronger engine it would make for a lovely car, im just a petrol head :grinning:

Help Please Audi A4 1.8tfsi Gen3 engine question

Hi all, I understand that these engines have a camshaft bearing bridge for oil flow to the camshaft VVT pulleys, and that there is a small mesh filter and ball valve built in that can break up and cause issues, I have looked online and can only see this mesh on these units that have VVT on the...

Locked out! Flat battery and door lock completely seized! HELP!

I would jack the car up high enough to comfortably get underneath and get it on axle stands, remove the undertray and see how easy it is to get to the starter motor main live as that comes down from the battery anyway, as for the earth you can put it on any clean metal on the engine. Start there...
