New B8 A4 Avant S-line question (spare wheel)

But it still has the spare, yes? I would want B+O, that's a must.

    New TT

Can't believe they're 18's, they look borderline too small! But you've already said you're changing them. 19's minimum, I think.

Is owning an S-Line a magnet for burglars?

I'm asking myself the question, is a car worth the stress? I know I'm lucky, that I can own a decent car in area which is low risk. But if I had to move to a 'higher risk area', would I be willing to have the stress of owning the same car? It has to be said, the answer is no. I'd rather drive...

Is owning an S-Line a magnet for burglars?

I'm amazed I stay only a few hundred miles from some of you. Some of these stories are like it's a different planet. Some of you should move up here, get the property market moving again!

Is owning an S-Line a magnet for burglars?

Driveway. When it came to my particular S-line, I was always disappointed when I looked out in the morning and saw it was still there.

Is owning an S-Line a magnet for burglars?

I'd fancy the sort of people who nick high-end motors never actually drive them. It would be whisked into a shipping container and off to Dubai/Russia/China before you knew it.

Is owning an S-Line a magnet for burglars?

There's a bloke up here, got himself a Bugatti Veyron. Pictures of it being unloaded at his house 'found' their way onto the net. The local rag got wind of it, found out who he was and did an article/interview with him. I thought that was possibly the most naive, at best, thing I'd seen in my...

Is owning an S-Line a magnet for burglars?

I can't believe anyone thinks it's inevitable their car will be nicked, like Esox Mark suggests.:wtf: Maybe where he lives, thank god I don't live there. I don't know anyone who's had their car nicked. I've read stories on here and heard stories from colleagues in Manchester, but I've never...

    ESP On or Off

Ooh, I know, how on earth did we all manage to stay out of ditches before these aids. Sorry to sound facetious, but it's how I feel about them. Which is why I rarely look enviously at any other bloke in a BMW/Audi/whatever, but I will stare enviously at the bloke in the old (RWD) escort RS2000...

    ESP On or Off

I couldn't disagree more. I find driver aids the bain of my driving life and I yearn for the days before them. They may make driving hyper-safe for the interminably stupid, but they also make it incredibly dull for anyone with a modicum of car control. TBH, I find it a bit concerning that anyone...

Is now a bad time to buy a used (nearly new) car?

Abso-flipping-lutely. It's restored my faith in premium cars, that they can be reliable. 11000 miles and no measurable oil use. I'd have been through approx £ 92.00 of oil in the A3 in the same time.

Is now a bad time to buy a used (nearly new) car?

Don't talk to me about this pile of crap of a car. I'm livid. I mean, I had to go to the dealers last week, because some of the chrome was coming off the 'D' badge at the back. Tch... :jester::salute:

With regard to Germany, Renault, Skoda and Toyota are all high up the sales charts there.

The dealerships aren't owned by the manufacturers though. They're British businesses (Arnold Clark, etc.etc.) They employ British salesmen, mechanics etc.etc. I would say that whatever make you choose, the British economy benefits in some way, shape or form.

    ESP On or Off

Almost always off in my A3. I found it far too intrusive and crude in action. Unfortunately, it meant a ****** great orange warning light in your fizzog. Ho hum.
