I've turned my S/S off in the manual A3, for example on a hot day when I was fed up of it dithering about whether it wanted to be on or off
The problem is that there's no way I'm going to remember to turn it off or switch to Sport every time I arrive home: parking my car at home involves...
I don't mind start-stop in general, it can be quite nice in traffic... but I live in a town where there's virtually never any start-stop traffic, and I hate the way it turns off when moving.
It's a shame it doesn't remember the state when the ignition is off, that would solve the problem...
Thanks, I'll try S mode next time: although I suspect I need to get it looked into, I don't want to have to switch modes every time I slow down, and stopping in Sport mode seems counter intuitive :p I do often switch to sport for junctions, but parking isn't quite the same.
I'm definitely...
I've just swapped my manual A3 for an S-Tronic, and the start stop is... a little overzealous for my taste.
I don't want to turn it off entirely if I can avoid it, but it's so sensitive that it's cutting out even as I pull up to park and am still rolling, cutting my steering power right as I'm...
Interesting on the last point - I'm not ordering directly so it may be that my company are aware but nobody has informed me: my order still states 1.4. I assume you're right, because it seems odd that they'd keep a 1.4 sat around until September just for me
The rest of the delay is rather...
@Chris43, this is what's confusing me - my car is scheduled for delivery in September, but it only seems possible to order the 1.5 right now, mine was ordered at the very end of March (no idea what the delay is) - so I'm not actually certain which I'll get, since it's a fleet car.
I'm not...
I understand the 1.5 is apparently based on the 1.4, but although the displacement is larger, the two seem to be... basically identical. Both have (with the S-Tronic gearbox) a 0-60 time of ~8.2 seconds, as far as I can see, comparable top speed etc.
Unless I'm missing something about the...
OP I wouldn't worry about it particularly: it's rare for one to go at all. I'm on 5 years with my A3 and so far I've lost a grand total of one of the two number plate lights.
IMO: Glacier looks slightly better in bright sunlight (where the metallic paint "pops", and Ibis washes out a little as it's too bright), Ibis looks better the rest of the time, because if it's not in really bright sunlight Glacier just looks like a slightly dirty, off-white Ibis. (Glospete's...
Thanks :) they really don't make it clear - weird, especially considering the partial postcode search was such a frustration to so many of us using the RNS-E
I've also just discovered that the car can use Apple's CarPlay, so I guess I can just use Apple Maps instead of the built in navigation...
So I'm coming from a 2012 Audi A3 Black Edition Quattro 8P (last generation), and looking to upgrade to this year's equivalent-ish model, minus the Quattro.
I currently have the Navigation Plus (RNS-E) system, which doesn't have full postcode search and has, frankly, always done my head in. The...
I'm looking at buying a Range Rover Evoque, and trying to decide between the sound systems available
Does anyone know what the power output (ie wattage) is on the BOSE system on the A3? I know it's not the most important thing when it comes to sound quality, but just for comparison purposes I...
Add one to the AS.Net numbers, I don't think I mentioned I was a member when I signed up!
I've been with CK for the last 3 years, and the only comment I'd have is that the renewal prices are crap
Both of my renewal quotes have more than the previous year's premium which, for someone who's...
My biggest concern is the potential reduction in value...
I'm likely about to sell my A3 Black Edition 2.0TDI, which I assume has the engine in question.... I'll be pretty ****** off if the uncertainty about future road tax and/or recalls which may change the power, reliability or MPG of the...
