We had a baby and thought the A3 would be big enough, we were wrong. can get the pram in the boot and nothing else lol Sadly it means moving away from the Audi club after many years, but staying within the VAG Group. looking at Skoda Octavia VRS.

Mines 112k and Motorway were stating a lowest price of £7300. Private sale is really tempting for the possible extra cash, but past experience of private sales and dealing with wombles puts me right off. just getting the wheels done then i think i'll give Motorway the nod. fair play that...

interestingly i am in the same boat. selling my mapped A3 as needing something bigger. general advice i've been given is to not declare the map as you'll just open can of worms of people stating the clutch is going to go and want money off blah blah blah i'll probably sell mine through motoway...

can you tell which side of the engine the noise is coming from? also, if you've got a recording of the sound that would be helpful

Diesels love to rattle - mine is no exception lol when did the problem first start? have you had any work done recently? is it worse on cold start? on cold start my TDI is rattly, but once it warms up it's normally fine.

I assume that you don't actually leave the car idle for "a few hours" never a good idea to leave a car idling for prolonged periods. what engine do you have?

A guy i worked with had a TC issue with his S3 running stage 2 with DSG map. flooring it would just light up the front wheels. Turned out it was the Haldex Pump that was failing. Replaced the pump and all sorted.

i have a RAMAIR induction kit fitted to my 2.0 TDI which is also mapped. no noticeable difference (fitted the induction kit after the map) just sounds louder on idle and you can hear more whoosh noises from the turbo.

There are a number of bleed screws on the cooling system, or you can run the car with the header tank cap off and heating system on full to allow the trapped air to escape. You'll know it's all out when the reserve coolant in the header tank stops bubbling. if you've had the water pump done...

I wouldn't bother getting a new silica bag, the purpose of them is to expand the life of the coolant i believe, but half the time they end up bursting and blocking the heater matrix. This very thing happened to me. As far as i'm aware nothing in Audi servicing says about flushing the coolant...

It was around 35mm-40mm. I believe i'm correct in saying that the figures they quote you are from stock height. The S-Line is about 15mm lower than a standard A3 so that drop was actually more like 20-25mm.
