    For sale - A4 v6 avant quattro

After 2 years of flawless and supremely effortless motoring, I've decided to sell my v6 avant quattro. If anyone is interested, here's the ad. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/554374.htm I'm going for a complete change; not sure what yet, but it will be a radical departure. I will...

    confused over new tax prices

My 3.0v6 quattro goes up from £205 to £450 over the course of the two year escalation. Nice. There is talk of another Govt U-turn on this in prospect though as people have now started to realise just what's in store and are pushing the Government on it to think again (as per the 10p tax). The...

How many bulbs have you replaced?

On an 03 plate, replaced just one sidelight bulb in two years. Doesn't seem to high an attrition rate!

MRC Tuning in Banbury gets my vote.

    V6 cambelt replacement

According to the manual it's 80,000 miles or 5 years, which ever comes first - rubber will degrade over time regardless of whether it's whizzing around under tension, I guess that's the issue.

    V6 cambelt replacement

@Arthur - thanks, £400 I can stomach just about, I know it's a big job for sure. What other things do people recommend are done when this is being done?

    V6 cambelt replacement

I've got a scheduled replacement for my V6 cambelt due in a couple of months time (based on age, rather than miles driven). Have just been quoted £760 by an Audi garage to do it. Is that "reasonable"? Does anyone have a suggestion for somewhere good to go that will be cheaper than that, in the...

    A light came up!!

If the water's got in, it'll be a case of waiting for the water to evaporate off - drive it, get the brakes hot.

    A light came up!!

Sounds like the brake pad low warning light - were you using a pressure washer on the wheels/ brakes by any chance? Could simply be water has got onto the wiring in the brake pads and shorted out, or it could just be coincidence and your pads are low. Keep an eye on it.

How practical is the A2 boot?

An open question to the A2 owners out here - I'm pondering down-sizing and am looking at the A2. I'm wondering, how practical is the boot in real-world day-to-day use. I'll shortly have two children, thus necessitating the use of the back seat for baby car seats, so wondering if the boot is...

Glad we were able to steer you in the right direction - did you get charged much for replacement?

My coilpack misfire did not throw a CEL.

    3.0 V6 Hesitation problems.....

@Rwest - I did drive the car for a few miles on a dud coil pack, just was as gentle as possible on the throttle to spare the poor little engine any potential trauma. I'm sure someone on the forum has VAGCOM and lives near you and could help you out at least to get a diagnosis?

    3.0 V6 Hesitation problems.....

@rwest - that does sound like a coilpack; have you access to VAGCOM to check? Coilpacks are cheap and easy to replace, don't worry.
