when u remove the plate that is holding down the pipe i can then remove the pipe by a tug....can someone help if they have experienced the same with a audi s3

hi guys i recently changed my dipstick and ive been reading that when inserting the pipe im meant to listen for a click noise - is this true as i didnt hear a click noise i saw the pipe push all the way down and looks secure...is right and is there anything to worry about?
