I had experience of this when I had my 2019 40 TDI. Always felt to me like a battery-related issue, Audi techs said this was unlikely but when my battery was swapped out the problem disappeared (turned out battery wasn’t holding charge, after the dealer kept the car overnight for several days)...
That's what I heard also. The SOS light on my 2022 model A6 went off itself after 2 days and has never reappeared, so I cancelled my appointment at the dealership anyway.
I received this 5713 service campaign message as well, but I don’t understand why as I received both key fobs when I collected the car brand new 3 months ago. Phoned up Audi today but they still wanted to book the car in anyway. Booked in for mid January so we’ll see what happens.
Thanks for your advice, I'll give it a go. If it doesn't work then hopefully I only have another 4 weeks of staring at that yellow warning light on the dash to go! (if the software update is ready in time for January as my local Audi dealer says).
Do you know if the workaround for the SOS warning light that you've explained only works on A3s, or can it also be used on a 2021 A6 (with Tech Pack)? After having the car for 3 months my SOS warning light has just come on, and now won't go off. Also, do you have to go through the same process...
Hi Lambtech, thanks for your feedback. On balance, would you go for the S3 again knowing what you know now? Are the trade-offs in comfort/noise/refinement worth it overall? I have a 2019 A6 40 TDI on 19" alloys, S line suspension, but also had a /66 plate S3 hatch previously. I know that the S3...
Thanks for the feedback guys, will make my mind up later this week. Ride quality and legroom in the back are my main concerns, good to know I don’t need to worry about ride quality at least! Had a 2016 S3 previously but used to a big A6 for the last 2 years, love the A6 so I’m conflicted at...
What's the ride quality like on optional 19 inch rims on standard suspension? Is it noticeably better on 18s? I've an A6 40 TDI (2019) and worried the S3 will be too harsh. Know the S3 will be firmer but what are 19s on stock suspension like?
I had these same issues with my 2019 40 TDI, except I never had the stop-start problem. Turned out to be a battery fault, replaced under warranty. I had the same noisy central locking and difficulty starting first time. The dealer initially didn’t think it would be a duff battery but that was...
