    My S4 thread

    Shame :-(

Any B8 RS4 owners in Aberdeenshire.

Dorset may be just a little too far!! I changed from a 2014 S4 to an RS4 non DRC and the only real difference is that the ride in the RS is a bit more jiggly on some surfaces, definitely nothing to worry about though overall a very comfortable car. Hope this helps.

    S4 Tyre Wear

On my S4 the front tyres had slightly more wear than the rear, probably down to the front being slightly heavier

    Oil change - hand pump

Screwfix do one for £49.99 which looks exactly like the one I use and it has been fine. There are also some electric pumps around but I have not tried any.

2017 2.0 ltr tfsi b9 oil and undertray removal.

Bu the OP said that is what is recommended in his handbook - not a lot of difference between a synthetic 5-30 or 5-40 tbh.

2017 2.0 ltr tfsi b9 oil and undertray removal.

Agreed an oil extractor is the easiest cleanest way, as for the oil I would us a 5-40 502 spec either Castrol Edge, Mobil 1 or Shell helix.

    Questions about future car(?)

Over the 5 year ownership of my B8.5 S4 I reckon servicing averaged out at about £200 per annum at the main dealer, tyres around 16-18000 miles and fuel economy about 30mpg ( mid 30s motorway mid 20s town and don’t ask if pressing on). Ignoring depreciation etc I found it a relatively cheap car...

Inspection service due but not an oil change

Good solution as long as the oil is changed annually your service history should not affect value

Thinking of moving on but what next?

Difficult one - some people like to buy a stock car and presume that it has been "mistreated" if anything other than standard. On the other hand the main complaint about these cars is the lack of sound and you have fixed this with a well regarded (and expensive) mod, on the balance of things I...

Thinking of moving on but what next?

I would rule out the E63 - not a lot of traction for most of the year as you said! that really leaves RS6/7 or M5 as much as I like my Audi the M5 is an amazing machine and can be bought at very a reasonable price. Good luck with your research :-)

Thinking of moving on but what next?

From what you’ve said I would go for an R8 - user friendly supercar and probably one of the last great normally aspirated engines. Worth a test drive
