Hello,
I've been on here for a while and recently made a jump in an FY Q5.
I wondered when the rear diff should be serviced? I'd have said 60k miles for a conventional rear diff is overkill but ok if trying to look after it.
Is the quattro decoupling service taken care of with the s-tronic...
That's misleading, all the dq500 gearboxes use the same mechatronics but to suit the different ratios and shift quality have different software, and it doesn't need to be from an 8P either.
I've used a tiguan dq500 and an 8p dq500 in an 8p both were fine but the tiguan dq500 was affected by the...
Which additional wire are you referring to?
There's can hi, can lo, +ve, ground and start inhibitor from memory, there's k-line if dq250 which isn't relevant on mqb chassis
Thanks
I've no idea about bosch vs siemans for the tdi and petrol mechatronics, I still have the nzs mechatronic so could have a look who it's made by.
The nzs gearbox had faulty syncromesh shafts rather than a component protection issue, it was fine when cold then wouldn't rev match correctly once...
Component protection on the dq500 only affects the mqb chassis, doesnt matter on the pre mqb stuff as the gearboxes communicate with the car differently. Just avoid the 2013 ones as stated in this thread as there was a vw tpi for the syncromesh as per the thread and try to get something off a...
Thanks for the info, I've now ended up with another question though - is the b9 s-line available with comfort and presumably sport suspension or simply normal suspension and mag ride?
Thanks
Your comparison between b9 a4 and b7 s-line's I recently had an s-line a5 sportback as a courtesy car and it was alot comfier ride over the b7 (note my b7 is an avant if it makes any difference) I'm surprised that you say the b9 is so similar to the b7
Thanks
Hello and sorry for the strange thread!
I wondered if anybody can compare the B9 suspension as far as the ride comfort goes, the B9 s-line suspension seems to be quite well damped and good at absorbing the bumps
Is it possible that people can compare between the normal A4 s-line and S4 or, if...
I'd personally stick with a dmf over SMF unless you plan on going mental, my sachs clutch is the non sprung centre so judders a bit at idle at biting point, the sprung version should be smoother, a SMF would be worse still
