Hmm, my 2001 A4 Tdi 115 has 178,000 miles and the tiptronic works fine (I occasionally get limp mode from the vvt but that's another story).

The only sensible advice I can offer is to part/ex the car for a proper facelift A4 that hasn't been hacked about by Dr Frankenstein. Quicker and easier than trying to unstitch someone else's bad workmanship. IMHO.

My Tqs had the same issue when I bought it, deffo sludge, I flushed the engine, changed the oil pump, cleaned out the sump (full of gunk) flushed the engine again and it was fine for the couple of years I had the car. The turbo did eventually give up for the subsequent owner (Drizz) but that...

Mine sits snugly (sat on a piece of carpet tile!) in the cubby below and to the left of the steering wheel - the tray is even open at the back so the cables are straightforward to run through to the stereo.

Check the gearbox oil level asap. If it is low it will kill your gearbox very quickly.

With the Connects 2 fitted you can still use your cd changer [or phatnoise if you have one fitted ;-)] You can 'fool' the HU by switching between CD and CDC quickly, the HU will cycle between the 2 auxillary units on each switchover. I have the choice of 1. Radio, 2. Single cd, 3...

I have this problem regularly. I find it is cured by putting some fluid into the fuel tank. Diesel seems to work the best.

Could be an internally damaged flexi hose, letting fluid into the caliper, but stopping it from draining back.
