Yep, I have at separate times completed the job myself (horrible) and paid for it (expensive).
Neither option is great tbh and IMO it is the one major weak point of these cars with having the slave inaccessible without removing the box.
The slave cylinder is inside the gearbox so it is a box off job to replace.
Often you will see fluid dripping from the bellhousing it if has failed (though I didn't on my current one).
I was having issue with boost and it was down to a failing fuel pump, I swapped it out for a sytec one and it was night and day.
It was taking a few goes to start as well.
Mine is suffering from the same issue on one of the A pillars, I'v put it down to a poor windscreen replacement in its past.
A real shame as apart from that mine is very solid :(
Can't help with bodyshops, I am in the North West and don't know anywhere up here to take it either!
After the recent snow and ice I wanted to give the S3 a good clean.
Friday is got a decent going over. Lifted it up and gave the underside a good blast with the jet wash.
Also fixed some of the underside trim in the wheel arch that had been poorly fitted following the clutch job in the summer.
Building up the energy to start doing the rounds at the local body shops to get some prices as the guy I have used for my cars for years has closed down.
Went to Cars and Coffee earlier this month and got papped coming out.
Car passed the MOT today :D
Advisory for rear disks but other than that a clean bill of health! Much better than last year when it took a month to get a pass messing with emissions.
Roll on the summer and some paintwork all being well.
****** awful that mate and sadly hearing more and more of this kind of thing now.
I was done over for £2.5k for a clutch change in the summer and mine has never driven right since, they just want more money to try and find the fault that wasn't there before they stripped the front end and drive...
If you are on the Facebook group, there is a chap who builds B-Xenon lamps. I have had a set fitted to mine for almost a year and they are fantastic, the light output is much improved.
One of he levers on my passenger seat has snapped off, I recall trying to get a replacement a few years ago for a previous S3 and they where NLS.
Is anyone aware of a 3D printer file for them?
Thanks
Rear bumper has had a poor paint job in the past so thought I'd try and revive it. It's come up well and will do until the car sees paint next year.
Thought I might as well tackle the tail pipes while I was in the area!
