That’s what the symptoms are pointing towards. I had the same problem with my former S3 Saloon, it went in for the same issue as yours under warranty and never came home. Replaced the waterpump/thermostat and heater matrix but couldn’t get the coolant to run clear, they ended up buying it back...

More than likely the water pump/thermostat housing, probably the most common of common faults. Take it to a specialist or someone who’s familiar with these, they’re notoriously difficult to bleed properly and should be vac fed. Only use proper coolant, apart from limping it to your garage as it...
