I've just gone to reverse into the garage and as I started to reverse the car made a horrible screeching noise, DIS said turn off engine, low oil pressure. Immediately turned the engine off, opened the bonnet to what looks like the alternator belt has completely shredded… engine bay was roasting...

Managed to get hold of vcds, anyone know if usable battery charge is normally working, I.e shows a value? Or comment on anything else this shows ;)

You have to get the battery coded these days?! I thought it was normally just a case of re-inputting radio codes, but the last time I changed a battery was a long, long time ago ;)

It's a 2016 S3, on it's original battery. Just worried about it cutting out whilst I was driving, there were no warning lights prior, sounds like there could be more to it… just struggling with ideas!

Currently sat on the side of a roundabout waiting for the other half to rescue me, fun fun fun! Yesterday I went start my car after leaving it in the garage for a week and no joy, went and grabbed a jump starter from halfords, and the car started straight away, I left it running for 15 mins...

Recently cracked an alloy on our Seat Ibiza, it's on 17" 10 spoke alloys, and really struggling to find a replacement. Are we best just contacting Seat directly? Ebay has a few but all of them look like they'd need to be refurbed. Anyone ever seen an alloy crack like this before?

Fitted spacers at the weekend in the pouring rain… dedication! Used the jack that comes with the car, slightly terrifying… some after shots with the extra poke!

Thanks, no screws or hex bolts then? Saw there's a slight cut out on the bottom of each tip, couldn't really see into the holes though! Guess it's one for the rubber mallet ;)!

Stocked up on plenty of rain-x, keeps the dirt/salt off the rear windscreen, so no need for it ;) Generally wash my car fairly often, so isn't ever a problem, can see how it would be if you were doing lots of miles or didn't wash the car on a frequent basis. The look's worth it for me though...

Decided to remove the black paint from my exhaust tips today, got out the paint stripper, left it for an hour and they came out perfectly, was worried I'd have to get the wire wool out, fortunately not! Exhausts looking shiny again, can also see the rear wiper delete:
