SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION of the 47i6 BRAKE UPGRADE

I had no problems with my original brakes, having only ever driven in the dry! Audi applied the upgrade anyway, I followed the bedding in procedure to the letter, and the brakes work fine.. But after 1200 dry miles on them, they are now squealing :( wish I'd stuck with my originals

Michelin Pilot Super Sports taking the RS3 from great to truly gripping

I've actually just managed to source some genuine fronts in the standard size so I can run either r888's, pilot sport cups, or Dunlop sportmaxx race next summer.... As they don't do any of them in the 255/30... Oh the irony of the optional "handling upgrade" 255's

    Worth the wait...

Been using various swissvax products and blackfire etc, but I've been quite liking some of the dodo juice stuff recently, so I got a few sample jars of their various colour charged waxes to see how they came out.. after the usual snow foam.. I use dodo "Tarmalade" for the bug splats etc...

Michelin Pilot Super Sports taking the RS3 from great to truly gripping

Yeah it's all sorted.. Just went in for a new transfer box, then fuel pump, then brakes, then door alignment! Why they couldn't manage to do it all at the same time is beyond me! and there's a video here of the wear http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/rs3-forum/198334-front-tyre-wear.html

Michelin Pilot Super Sports taking the RS3 from great to truly gripping

I just got two 255/30/19 supersports fitted price of £440 for the pair from tyre web (who black circles use as my local fitter) the closest black circles could come was £491 with £25 worth of tescos vouchers........ £209+delivery and fitting from camskill.... I emphasise this is for 255's...

Michelin Pilot Super Sports taking the RS3 from great to truly gripping

To your knowledge, can you get the 255/30/19 in michelin cup, r888 or Dunlop sportmaxx race? From what I've seen so far on the manufacturers sites, they only come in 35 profile, which I'm assuming is no good?

    Front Tyre Wear

nice boat you're in there mate.. I've gone for replacing the fronts for the moment as I have 255's I can't swap them around, so next month I'm going to do the rears as well. I'm undecided as to whether to go for a 225 or 235 on the rears, but I'm leaning towards the 235 if I'm honest....... I've...

    Front Tyre Wear

I think you might be right.. The 255 probably does exaggerate the problem. As for the wheels, I had one refurbished, for a minor mark, by lepsons - they did a fantastic job.. On your red car they will look grrrreat! Do it!:rockwoot: Can't wait to get new shoes.... She's off the road until then...

    Front Tyre Wear

yeah something's not right with those tyres.... Funnily enough I think the last time I came across this type of thing was on Michelin pilot sport 2ct (twin compound) motorbike tyres.. Michelin issued a recall for certain batch numbers due to tread lifting off - I got mine replaced FOC, despite...

    Front Tyre Wear

The tyre itself has lots of tread left and hasn't really worn, except for the shoulders which started off feathering, then ripping off in chunks all the way round both outer edges of both fronts.:scared2:

    Front Tyre Wear

yep these contis are pants.. 6k in and both fronts are like this.. I've had cheap budgets before that haven't fallen apart like this.. For the record I have 255 front option and I drive it like I stole it, but then that's what I bought it for and it should handle that easily. As per mr MBK...

    Worth the wait...

After a tortuous crawl down one of the bumpiest tracks I've ever taken a road car on, amidst many amused comments about the fact that rs3 is probably the first "supercar" to have been down there, we arrived at a spot right on the beach and snapped a few twilight pics.. More to follow at decent...

    A brief encounter with a 997 Turbo...

sod the gtr mate .. It's one of the rattliest, worst made rice burners I've been in! Most of the owners here get annoyed with noise from the drivers window on an audi, I dread to think how much a gtr would pi$$ me off! At the end of the day, these cars still have to be driven on the road and...

    A brief encounter with a 997 Turbo...

You know this, Kel.. One of the main reasons I got the rs3 was the immense "tunability" of the 2.5 engine. However with all the reliability issues and recalls, not to mention the couple that have already lunched their engines, I wouldn't be confident of doing it now..? The warranty seems to be...
