Also one thing to consider is if you do change your suspension because it's new it will sit higher anyway. It may only take a few months to settle down a bit but may initially be higher than current.
Is no one with the same spec car able to take some measurements?
Recently went through this on my Mondeo. You have a new alternator and battery, doesn't seem logical for it to work when jumpstarting it if there was a fault.
Have you tried taking it for a long drive to charge up, then come home and check battery voltage while still running? Then switch off...
Glad you got it all working! I usually run a bit of sandpaper in the hole once old one removed which sometimes helps. Had to drill out a few though and sometimes easiest!
