Mine was mapped by badger5 running a td05 and made circa 380hp but with various modifications including the essential forged rods. More potential with a few more modifications. This by no means is an easy task and for the work involved, you may want to consider a top mounted BIG turbo...

It will require alot of custom work. Custom exhaust work, intake, oil and water lines etc... I run a TD05 on mine.

Factory or retrofit?

Because that would mean an expensive re-trim to match the front seats. The modification with the kit most likely less that £30 to do as i already have a matching headrest.

Just reinsured my heavily modified S3 for £385 - Adrian Flux. I'm 28, 8 years NCB and 1 fault accident.

There looks to be headrest guide/retainers available from Audi also...
