No yet mate, need to eliminate everything else first as it will be a bit of a job!
Another factor...my mate followed me and said under heavy acceleration...there is heavy black smoke coming out the exhaust.
Bump....someone must have an idea? appreciate any help or suggestions....
I have noticed a pattern......when you first pull away it drives close to normal...accelerates and boosts in every gear....but after the first minute or so, usually when hitting around 2500rpm in 3rd gear....the car...
Ok...an update!
We have now changed the air mass flow meter today and on the test drive, it immediately felt better. I felt there was still a slight bit of lag compared to the old turbo but at least it was consistent and drove in a 'normal' fashion. However, after a few miles of stop-start...
Thanks guys....still not solved this. Mechanic has checked and pretty damn sure everything is on the way it should. The EGR valve was clogged so we changed that but it still drives the same.
There are no fault codes to indicate exactly what's going on, he's got the diagnostic equipment.
I...
My turbo was on the way out with leaky seals so just had a recon turbo fitted. Car idles and revs ok when in neutral, but on the road it has a big flat spot between around 1500rpm and 3000rpm. If you try to accelerate from low revs it just doesnt go anywhere! once it gets past 3000revs the turbo...
I've ditched the 19s for the winter and picked up a set of 16" steelies from www.wheelsnthings.com . Wrapped them in Continental ContiWinterContact rubber and have to say, the grip in the slippy wet weather has been fantastic so far. Haven't had the chance to use them in the snow yet but there...
Hi Mark...I'm waiting on V-Maxx coilovers for mine, they should be here in the next few days...once they are on I can let you know how the ride is. V-Maxx are fairly cheap (around £560 for the fixed damping units) but are meant to be pretty good for the cash.....time will tell!
Popeye, I do have a fair bit of sympathy for you, technically you are correct, you have followed Audi's recommendations and have suffered the consequences of their inaccurate information. I don't think it's fair to say 'it should be common knowledge' as some posters have done because in this day...
Just another thing Bez....how did you find the V-Maxx? I've been assured the quality has steadily improved and in comfort terms they ride not too far off the OEM suspension?
Thanks again James....as far as I knew the Sport suspension had lower springs (hence the 20mm drop you mentioned) and a different rate of damper but I still haven't sussed out why the coilovers won't suit the Sports as I would imagine the fitment would still be the same.....still can't find any...
Thanks mate, that answers some of it, means there must be something different about the Sport suspension compared to the other B6 models....anyone know what it is?
I'm about to order some V-Maxx coilovers for my A4 Avant 1.9TDi Sport B6....but, on the V-Maxx website it says.....

I was about to post about a similar problem....and I found this thread very very helpful......
http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a4-a4-cabriolet-s4-forum-b6-chassis/49307-help-windscreen-demister.html
However, Not only do I have the demister not working, but the passenger side only blows out...
