yep- pushing/pulling that little catch that pops out of the front of the grill isn't releasing the bonnet (after pulling the lever in the footwell to "unlock" the bonnet- it pops up about an inch) PS this is an '01 A4.

that'll be the fuel pump access cover. I know 'cos I had to have the RAC out a couple of months ago as the car had conked out. It turned out to be a faulty relay to the fuel pump, but the guy still checked out the pump. Maybe he left the screws loose. I'll check it out. Cheers! T,

cheers. The reason I'm paranoid is that in a couple of weeks I'm bombing down to north Italy and Croatia for a three week holiday, and I will really get it in the neck if the climate fails down there!!

A couple of mornings now I've noticed that the climate fan speed when on Auto stays at one bar for a number of minutes before eventually getting up to a faster speed. Could this indicate a need to recharge?
