Hi all
Are there any additional considerations needed when lowering the quattro 170 model? Other than just springs/ dampers etc. I had TT several years back on coilovers and that needed adjustable camber arms on the rear because it was 4wd.
Cheers
Tim
Slightly late reply here, but ...
Remove the adjuster and drill a hole in the side of the threaded piece (at the base, not in the threads!). You will now be able to insert a screwdriver into the hole and prevent them from turning when you adjust them. I had to do this on my FK's.
10mm is virtually nothing in terms of lowering and the effect it would have on camber. Unless your doing mega miles I would just leave it and if needed rotate the rear tyres to even up the wear on the edges.
Have you actually tried lubricating the bolts with something like plus gas, wd or...
Nope. Don't use the fogs really tbh.
No worries. I'll give you a shout should I be left with them. Buy the whole car and then you will have the wheels ;)
Standard paper filter ftw, for years now this has been pretty much obvious in most tests I have read. Not sure how companies still sell these 'performance' filters with the amount of comments on the net rejecting their bhp 'gains' claims!
Took the belt off today and this is the outcome. As suspected lateral movement of about 6mm and squeaky when turning!
Look at the splined part in the middle and how much the outer section of the pulley moves in and out in the two pics.
And a short video of why it squeaks/chatters...
