Hi all S3 8v, 64 plate my coolant level drops (just around the minimum mark) when the car is warmed up. If you let the car cool down, or release the cap slowly, the level comes back up to the max mark. Is this normal? Or a common thing? Or a fault? Many thanks!

Thanks for this mate yes I totally agree regarding the chain. On a positive note, I replaced the cam adjuster magnets and it’s pretty much cured it, the rough misfire when cold has gone. This forum is far more helpful than any garage! now, onto the next problem

Sorry for late replies it was like it when I bought it (must have been warm when I viewed it) ((bring back old school temperature dial!)) i sent it back and they said it was a stretched chain. They then ‘replaced the chain’ and I got it back. ….. it’s exactly the same. but definitely worse...

Hi guys I have an s3 8v 2014 noticed there’s a fan coming on and off constantly, normally for short bursts, even from totally cold. As soon as I unlock the car, no key in the ignition! Sounds a bit like a radiator fan but I’m not sure any ideas? thanks!
