I have had a desire for an Audi V8 for a long time. The A8 4.2's seem to be really good value especially when they are a bit older. What at the weaknesses of the engines at 100k miles? Would it be crazy to buy an A8 at that kind of mileage that were more that 15 years old? Cheers!

when my lad did an EGR delete on his Passat he got the manifold cleaned by a local engineer in their parts cleaner - it came up like new. I don't know what the charge would be if the engineer wasn't a friend though.

I just had the identical problem - as above could be sticky vanes (Mr Muscle treatment is worth doing anyway) or might be a split pipe end on one of the vacuum lines. Mine was a split pipe all sorted for a short bit of pipe!

Thanks for help - it turned out to be a split pipe on the vacuum line. Car goes like a (diesel) powered rocket again.
